🏠 Gable End Repointing Completed – February Project 🧱

A look back at one of our repointing projects completed in February. The existing mortar was carefully ground out to the appropriate depth before being repointed using the correct cement-to-sand ratio, ensuring a strong, durable, and long-lasting finish.

Another traditional lime-built home carefully restored the right way.

We removed the old render using power tools only where necessary, with the majority of the work completed by hand using a scutch chisel to protect the original lime and brickwork underneath. No harsh chemicals were used at any stage, as chemical removal can damage traditional lime-built properties and compromise the integrity of the bricks and mortar.

Once prepared correctly, the entire property was repointed using a proper lime mortar mix, allowing the building to breathe as it was originally designed to do.

We were asked to repoint this home due to movement and mould issues. To solve the problem properly, we ground out the joints to the correct depth and used a like-for-like mix to keep everything in line with the original structure.

This property is a cement house, so we repointed it in cement and added red dye to match the existing finish
keeping everything looking authentic while strengthening the structure.
