A modest refurb can go off the rails when the electrical scope is vague. You move walls, change layouts, add equipment, then suddenly discover the existing infrastructure can’t support it cleanly. You end up with a domino effect of late design changes, rushed decisions, and budget creep.
The fix is getting clarity early. You need to identify what’s staying and what’s moving, as well as what’s new and therefore needs accounting for in the power supply. That includes things you might not think of, like emergency lighting coverage, fire alarm interfaces and data requirements, not just how the space will be used day-to-day.
When the electrical plan is solid, everything else becomes easier to sequence. Other trades can work around it, and handover doesn’t feel like a scramble.
If you’re scoping a refurb this quarter, we can help you define the electrics before surprises define you.
