I made a bespoke scaffold board shelving unit for a customer to put her folders next to her desk. The beauty of getting me to do it was she could have the exact size and specification she wanted and also had the satisfaction that all the materials were locally sourced and reclaimed. Plus the style was to her liking. So all round a satisfying job and a happy customer ☺️

I’ve made a number of these reclaimed wooden caddies. They can be used for all sorts… from holding your garden seeds and tools, to cutlery, condiments and more. A fantastic way to reuse locally sourced reclaimed wood.

As I’ve made a few of these it’s difficult for you to see which one you would like, so if you’re interested you can video call me on WhatsApp on 07810 516120 and I will show you the selection and you can choose from there. They are between 30-40cm long.

I made a set of five tables from cable drum tops/bottoms for a newly opened cafe in St Buryan in West Cornwall. It was a bit of a mission to make these as I made the customer one then he wanted another four and I thought it would be easy to find them, but it wasn’t! I didn’t realise there were so many sizes, not that they get snapped up. But after a while I managed to find enough and cleaned them up, sanded them up, put the frames together and gave them a good dose of Osmo oil to protect them from the elements. Why not head over to St Buryan and get some refreshments from in St Buryan and enjoy sitting at these ☺️ As usual, all from reclaimed wood locally sourced here in Cornwall.

My first reel with voiceover 🤣 What I should have said quite clearly is I made these frames from locally sourced reclaimed wood but was distracted by how fast I was having to think what to say. So I took the pictures with my other hat on () and then made the frames from reclaimed wood. I’m really pleased, especially as when we did the shoot in Exmouth I thought we would have to stop due to it being so misty but I really like the lighting effect! Who knew misty was a thing 🤷‍♀️

I’ve made this custom kitchen caddy for a customer who had loads of things on her kitchen table in multiple different sizes boxes. She felt it was disorganised and cluttered so I made her this simple unit to put all of her things neatly on the table.

So the other day I went foraging for usable reclaimed wood as I a prone to do of a weekend and I spent ages extracting some really dirty and difficult to get scaffold boards from a huge pile of discarded wood. Determined, I bought them back to my workshop and stored them to dry. Then I got a commission to make a tall shelving unit and the boards came back to life! With cleaning, sanding three times (like triple cooked chips 😀) with different sanders they came up a treat.

This unit is 190 tall - pic of me holding it so you can gauge the size - and 80cm wide. I don’t think I could make one much taller than this due to the size of my workshop.

I was able to accommodate taking off a piece at the bottom so the unit could be flush with the wall accounting for the skirting board. You can’t buy that in Ikea!

All in all I’m very pleased and I think it looks great in its new home ☺️

Here’s a small table I’ve made for a commission. It’s going to have a record player on top with records on the shelf below. The top and shelf are made with reclaimed floorboards I picked up on my scavenging hunts. 😀

The customer wanted that rustic, old look and I think this fits the bill. 40cm deep, 66 wide and 52 high, I charged £90.

I am happy to do commissions small or large, well not too big I can’t fit in my reasonable small@workshop. But if you have an idea for something you’d like and you want it made locally, sustainably and with loving care then please get in touch. I’m based near Helston.

Well, it was only a matter of time before I properly combined my love of woodworking and dogs 🐾

This custom reclaimed-wood dog bed / dog house is a commission I’ve been working on this week, and I’m pleased on lots of levels.

First, as usual, it’s all made from locally sourced reclaimed wood ♻️

Second, because the door was too small to fit the dog house through, I had to bring it in sections and assemble it in situ. I’ve not done that before, so the fact it all fitted together perfectly was very satisfying.

Most importantly — the lovely dog went straight in and off to bed! 🐶💤

Happy customers all round.
