Keys handed back on our West Kirby bungalow renovation this weekend.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing the finished project room by room, showing everything that went into transforming this home.

First up: the main lounge, where we installed this large set of bifold doors. Open them up and the room flows straight out onto the garden. The line between inside and outside simply disappears.

Big progress at our Eastham project this week

Upstairs is almost ready for plastering. The new dormers have completely opened up the first floor, creating a generous landing and a whole extra bedroom that wasn’t there before.

Outside, the final roof elements are now in place.

Everything’s on schedule for a Christmas move-in

The external works on our Moreton new build are almost complete.

Porcelain paving now runs across the rear garden and down both sides of the house, giving a clean, modern finish all the way round.

Out front, we’ve laid a new block-paved driveway in a granite-effect finish: light grey with a contrasting dark grey border.

New fencing has gone in throughout, and the track for the roller gate is already installed. We’re working with a local gate manufacturer to fit the gate itself, so the final reveal is coming soon.

Lots of progress on our Heswall extension. With the ground floor now ready for plaster, you can really get a feel for the space.

The large bifolds and Velux windows flood the room with natural light.

Outside, the landscaping is coming along too, with the area beyond the doors almost fully paved.

Underfloor heating is down across the entire ground floor at our Eastham project, ready for liquid screed — thanks to Northwest Underfloor Heating & Screed

The original house had several different floor levels. Because liquid screed can be laid at varying depths, we can bring everything up to one level throughout, ready for a single, seamless floor covering across the whole downstairs.

The first design for this West Kirby home came to around £181,000. That was more than the family’s budget.

ArchitectFolk’s concept had a rear extension, a new garage and a structural glass link. Rather than scale everything back evenly, we worked with the architect to agree what mattered most. That was replacing the small Victorian kitchen with a large family living space.

Phase one was simplified, and the revised contract came to around £123,000.

The family still needed a garage. They kayak, climb and take part in adventure sports, so during the build we designed a simpler clad blockwork garage. It has room for their equipment, plus a sauna and a shower. The landscaping then tied everything together.

The finished project looks different from the first concept, and it suits the family better.

The finish line is in sight at our West Kirby bungalow refurb.

Inside, we’re almost ready for flooring. Painting and decorating is well underway, and we’re working through the snagging on the internal joinery, checking every door, frame and skirting before we sign it off.

The bathrooms are in their final stages too, with the wall coverings going on now.

This is the part of a project where all the earlier work starts to show. More to come once the floors are down.

Render complete on our West Kirby rear extension, a great finish from Rendwise

With the render done, we’ve been able to install all the drainage and commission both the new kitchen and master en-suite.

The rear extension is now finished and the homeowners have moved into their new space, which means phase 2 is underway: transforming the original kitchen and building the new porch.

More to come as this one takes shape.

First fix is nearly complete on our Eastham project 🏗️

Wayne and Paul have finished the last of the roof work, building the porch roofs to complete the structure.

Inside, all the electrics and plumbing are in, and we’ve already moved on to plasterboarding. Next stop: plastering.
