Spent today reflecting on my joinery journey so far. As it’s national apprenticeship week I thought I would share a bit of my story.

My name is Tom Gooch, I’m based in Holmfirth. I started my joinery apprenticeship with Huddersfield Technical College in 2005 and worked with the same firm until 2021 when I decided to set up on my own and be self employed as TAG Joinery Holmfirth.

I am a qualified bench joiner and love working with pieces of wood and turning them
into something intricate or beautiful. I also do lots of bespoke work and bedroom and kitchen fitting.

Below is a throwback picture to the skill build National apprenticeship competition where I won Best Bench Joiner in the UK and a more recent picture when I started as self employed.
