A different post this evening. Just spent the evening at the gig at the Hydro in Glasgow. Many thanks to my old friend for a cracking evening.

I've not been active here or in the workshop for a while, mainly because I'm working a hundred and seventy miles away. The really cool thing is its a 13th century castle and this is a piece of teak salvaged from the site (it was destined for the skip) which has been turned into a clock for my desk.

I haven't posted for a while, initially through some ill health and latterly because I haven't made anything.
To remedy that here's a couple of pens. The fist a fountain pen and third pic a ballpoint. Both made from a small piece of the basement floor from Glasgow School of Art. You can still see the mark of one of the old hand-cut nails on the lid of the fountain pen.

Timber is Pitch Pine

It's coming into wedding season, have you thought about a one off, handmade board or bowl or something a little more personal. Some projects finished over the last few months mainly for gifting.

A couple of little friends escaped the workshop today. They need names and homes.

Another little ring/trinket box, this one in oak. I set the outside of this one one fire, rubbed it down and worked gold gilt cream into the grain. Then a lot of polishing and finally waxing highlights the grain pattern and gives a nod to the whisky barrel stave cufflinks that will live in this box.
