We could publish lots of blogs and social media posts agonising about the climate emergency, how important it was to do ‘something’, and our target to be at some indeterminate point in the future.

Alternatively, we could get on with it.

This is the next step on the journey to 2025, converting our van fleet to electric. This van will be charging via on site chargers, which are powered for much of the year by our 85kWp solar panel install.

We’ll post again once it’s had the graphics added. Who knew Net Zero could look so good?

It's only early February and yet, we already have customers from the Scottish Highlands and the south coast of England reporting tick bites!

We know we're repeating ourselves, but we cannot emphasise enough! The absolute number one priority is not what you do when you get bitten, it's don't get bitten.

Use a good quality repellent on all areas of exposed skin, check pets, particularly at this time of year, and stick to established tracks and paths if at all possible.

A very Happy Christmas to all our customers, suppliers, and friends, and thanks for your support this year.

It has been wonderful to have the first normal travel season for three years; seeing repellent production lines at full speed was so encouraging.

We'll be closed for holidays from 5pm, December 23 until 8.00am, January 4, 2023. We wish you a restful, joyful holiday (and lots of chocolate), and look forward to resuming the conversation in 2023.

We hear all sorts of stories and tales about how to avoid mosquito bites without using insect repellent! Rubbing garlic behind your ears, anyone?

One suggestion that comes up fairly regularly is certain vitamins and food supplements can make your body repel mosquitoes.

The reality is this, like so many other tales, is a combination of some flaky science, amplified by years of telling and retelling, and some dubious claims on packaging.

The article on the link is a neat debunking of the suggestion that Vitamin B1 (or other dietary supplements) act to repel mosquitoes.

Three different DEET repellents:
• Trek 50. Our strongest DEET repellent, ideal for adult use in tropical or other at risk areas. 49% DEET, this repellent packs a serious insect punch.
• Trek Ultra. 30% DEET, so slightly less DEET than TREK 50, but the DEET is released over much longer than standard insect repellents. Trek 50 will protect for up to 6 hours, Trek Ultra will protect for up to 12 hours.
