Have you got a fusebox like this? These are very old rewire-able types but still found in homes and businesses in Ayrshire. The fabric pad in the fuse holder is ASBESTOS, which shoukd need no introduction but click the link below for more information. Asbestos is a known cancer causing mineral commonly used for fire prevention until it's dangers were discovered. Fuseboxes like this were commonplace in the '50s, and can still be found in older properties today in this area. Do not disturb the fabric pad should you suspect you have one.

If you do have one, your fusebox needs to be replaced, and by professionals. LED 'starry sky' failed years ago and now just look horrendous, right? All removed, holes filled, mould removed, repainted in brilliant white mould resistant paint, rubbish LED downlights replaced with quality fire rated units that use an easy to replace standard GU10 lamp, and a humidity sensing fan to automatically dry the room to prevent damp reoccurring. Much better.
