So here we are… still! Who would have thought that this time last year we were on the cusp of one of this generation’s most difficult, surreal, frustrating and damaging years that we had ever experienced? There was no way of preparing for it and it has hit some of us much harder than others. However, I am of the opinion that the worst is over and the best is yet to come! Winter is receding and the warm(er) weather is just around the corner!
In the meantime, can I remind you that SHDS are still here?! We are not allowed to operate yet, except in very specific circumstances, but we are raring to go when it is deemed safe to do so. We cannot wait to don the whites and get back to making the insides and outsides of your homes lovely again… if you haven’t done that already in your spare hours :-)
If you already have plans in mind for what you would like to have done or are just beginning to think about it and want to bounce some ideas about with someone who might be able to help, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We will be more than happy to discuss what might be possible, and if able to will try to give your a costing/estimate for the work. We look forward to hearing from you, and even more importantly, seeing you again! Hang in there.

I hope you are all managing OK under the current circumstances. Hopefully we are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel now.
As the Scottish government are gradually relaxing lockdown measures, SHDS are also beginning to explore how we can be of use to you. If you were already a booked in customer who we had to postpone because of Covid-19, we will be back in touch to arrange a tentative time for us to come and finish what we started! If you have made enquiries about getting an estimate, we will soon be in touch to arrange a date to safely come out and see what you're wanting done. And if you are thinking about getting in touch for whatever reason, please know that we are here and ready to get going again once it is safe to do so.
May the coming three months be better than the three that have just passed!

Dear Valued Customers,
I thought I’d take the opportunity to get in touch to reassure you that at this time and date (things can change very quickly these days!) SHDS is still open for business. I have always taken my customer's needs into consideration but because of the current situation with the Coronavirus, I have also taken further precautions and purchased a Stealth Half Mask Respirator, in order to keep myself, family and customers as safe as possible. Not only does a face mask stop me inhaling the virus, it also stops me from letting it out if I am carrying it unknowingly. As of now these will be worn at all times when working in close proximity to anyone else.
If you are still happy to have me in your home and are also symptom free, then please do consider using SHDS over the coming months for your painting and decorating needs.
As spring approaches and the temperature begins to increase (hopefully!) please also consider using SHDS for all your outdoor work. Whether it be the outside of your house, your garden fences, huts or garden furniture. This can be done with very limited or no contact between myself and you or your family. During the next few months small businesses like SHDS are going to find this season particularly challenging as we do not receive statutory sick pay nor are we paid when we are not working even on holiday, so SHDS is keen to be creative. If you have any other odd jobs or handyman work needing done, I am happy to consider all work. Please be assured that all precautions will be taken and if there is any indication that either myself or my family have been showing any symptoms I will be in touch and will cancel any appointments and self-isolate as per Government instructions.
Thanks for all your support and custom in the past. It is much appreciated.
