💫 Sketches of some of the designs we have done for a full site review of a beautiful lake side property and grounds.

Interventions include extensions and improvements to the main house, landscape and structures throughout the grounds, adding to and enhancing the journey throughout the site.

We have shown this to give further insight to our process of thinking through sketching and diagrams of layout and thoughts.

As architects one of our many tools is thinking through drawing, testing things through, we very much enjoy this part of a project, exploring ideas and solutions for our clients 💫

💫 A gorgeous design for this beautiful period property set within the conservation area.

Our design includes a two storey extension and landscape layout design, enhancing the balance of the property and its setting.

We love working with existing buildings, the approach to each property is unique with assessing it’s architectural style, materiality, previous alterations, different uses, condition, services. Etc. As architects we design spaces that responds to our clients brief and to the suitability of the building.

Understanding the buildings heritage, informs the steps we take to move forward. 🧱

🎱 Games room design! 🎯

One of the designs we did for one of our wonderful clients 💫

To enter the games room you go through a secret door behind the bar area… into a space which has a pool table in the middle, with table tennis work top hung on the wall which can be placed on top of the pool table, utilising wall space and storage by having a sliding screen uncovering a dart and score board.

The seating area at the end a perfect space for gatherings, gaming and movies. With access direct to the garden a perfect spot for teen gatherings, entertaining and chill out space 💫

📚Earlier this week we had the pleasure of hosting a student from a nearby school who wanted some shadowing experience in architecture!

We created a workshop at the amazing DLAB studios D-Lab , giving insight to architecture, surveying, condition assessment, drawing and design!

Giving first hand experience on some of the tasks we do as architects, and what we do through practice Live Site Studio and the other workshops we provide at Live Site Learning CIC

A fantastic experience for students to gain this live site experience at an early stage of their education! We also provide a certificate of participation, future opportunities and guidance.

We were very impressed in how he applied himself to the tasks throughout the workshop and we wish him the best of luck for the future!

Brilliant support by his parents and the school!

We look forward to hosting more Live Site Experience - shadowing workshops in the future!

🧱It was a pleasure to host a short workshop at earlier this week as part of their student introduction to T-level construction!

We provided a small insight on what we do through practice and the workshops we provide at Live Site Learning CIC

Image shows year 10 students inspecting the Victorian brickwork on their school wall! We discussed how we read and assess buildings, with a bit of hands on surveying exploring materiality!

A fantastic initiative by the school and really great to support these intelligent young women gain further insight to construction and architecture!

Thank you for having us, and look forward to further involvement in the future!

🪵 We recently took part in the fantastic Studio in the Woods at Hooke Park, with fellow architects, engineers, designers, creators & makers.

Such an inspiring few days learning from and collaborating with unbelievably talented people, in a wonderful setting, the design and making of a bridge!

Photos show the process of the milling of the wood on site, creating scarf joints for the trusses, and the bridge in place! Some of the images/videos taken from other participants after we had left… Along with a few pictures of other snaps around site, some sheep and our melted boots!

A very inspirational and rewarding event, a huge thank you to all organisers, team leaders and participants! We look forward to joining next time!

As a part of the design process we curate and collate material and texture palettes. Today we have been to showroom in Hertfordshire ☀️

: place the samples of the materials on site to observe with the light changes throughout the day and weather variation ☀️☔️

Thinking Landscape 🪴🍁

We love reimagining landscapes! No matter how big or small, a garden can transform the way you feel inside and outside of your home. 🌳

Architecture for us is about creating spaces for people, taking care of your outside space is just as important as your inside space, they work together, a building in its context. 🏡

We work with fantastic teams of landscape architects, gardening professionals, arboriculturist‘s, ecologists, contractors… the list goes on! Making designs come to life, creating that perfect place for our clients to make their home extra special. 💫

We are so pleased this design for this garden transformation has received planning permission for our wonderful client. We have addressed some elements of the existing building to work coherently with the design… including a wonderful pergola, screening, low level lighting and improved drainage. 🔆

This is a part of a potential phased project therefore designing this with potential future development in mind ☀️

This design needed permission because it is located within the conservation area, therefore being mindful of the design and approach of materiality on the existing house and wider conservation area.
