Had the pleasure of drawing at for the evening - many laughs were had, and much cheese was eaten! Shout out to for letting me have a nibble of (what I’m pretty sure are) the best charcuterie boards in the country. Well worth a trip to Driffield to grab one as a Friday evening treat! 😋

Should I have taken a pic where the plastic wallet holding the caricature doesn’t have a bunch of party lights reflecting off of it? Yes. Did I only realise you could barely see the drawing once I got home? Also yes. 😅

HOWEVER. These two had me dying laughing at their engagement story while I drew them, and I always like having some joy on socials! So you’ll have to fill in the gaps a little on the caricature. 👀

Look… I may not be the best photographer, but give me a pen and paper and I’m solid! 😂

When you have a buddy hit you up specifically to rant about how rubbish those naff AI ‘caricatures’ are, he is 100% getting drawn by a real life human (aka me!) as a bit of creative solidarity. So I’ve been asked to give my opinion on the AI caricature trend that’s been going around…

AI trains itself off of existing art - art that has been created by artists who have poured countless hours into their craft, and who have not given permission to AI to train on.

AI lacks the heart that myself and all my fellow artists strive to put into everything they create. It lacks the human connection, the “wow” moment when the drawing is turned round, the anticipation and the laughs that are had along the way.

AI cannot replace the experience that real art gives. AI “art” can’t capture personality, and it definitely isn’t the type of souvenir that people will take home, frame, and treasure (thank you to who sent me this gorgeous photo of their caricature at home and really made me smile!). 😁

I LOVE that so many people are getting into caricatures through this trend! But what’s even better is supporting real life artists who bring a whole experience with them.

If you’ve read this far this is your sign to maybe ditch the AI and consider boosting up the work of your local artists instead! 🧑‍🎨 ✍️ ✌️

I am SUPER excited to announce that I’ll be at the wedding fair at 🎉🥳

It’s free entry, has some incredible vendors (just see the list on Social’s website! 🤩), and it’s conveniently on my favourite street in Hull, so you can go do a little bit of shopping and grab a bite to eat after.

I’ll be drawing and chatting all day, so whether you’re curious to see how caricatures could fit into your wedding, want to get to know me before booking, or just want to be drawn, come say hi! It’s going to be a blast. 😁✨
