Over 30 years’ experience in the Construction Industry, having worked in Managerial positions on various levels and projects. I started my career as an Electrical & Mechanical apprentice on the Goldmines of South Africa and received Tradesmen qualifications. I then joined Moolman Bros, working on one of the world’s l
argest open cast platinum mines as a mining Production Manager, whist also studying Civil and Mining Engineering. I furthered my career in the United Kingdom as a Construction / Project Manager within the Commercial and Residential sectors
I have extensive experience in starting up, managing and overseeing complex projects from pre- construction and through to Completion. Organizing and motivating project teams, time management, advise and assist with estimating and budget development, analyzing and managing project variation I have excellent staff/Team management skills, ensuring that Contractors and staff remain motivated and working safely and productively with quality in mind. I have excellent skills in problem solving, project lifecycle coordination RISK management, Communication etc. My computer skills are very strong and extensive, with advanced knowledge on Excel, Word, Office 365, PowerPoint, Procore. I have excellent communication skills and extensive experience in dealing with clients, designers, contract administrators, CDM coordinator, Company Directors etc. My general duties also include as follows:
Actively monitor and update project requirements throughout the life cycle, I ensure to fully understand each project and the constraints within and resolve issues. Puts processes in place to ensure the monitoring and controlling of Policies and Procedures
Ensures that Standard Procedures and Best Practice are consistently implemented across the projects. Monitor quality and client reports and put in place measures to deal with issues and to celebrate and share success. Ensure that the project teams comply with delivering CDP requirements, with safety, productivity, and Quality as per programme and mini programmes used by on site managerial teams Establish the benchmark for Quality and ensures that it is achieved. Ensure construction statutory obligations, such as, CMP, CDM, HR, H&S, BREEAM Coordination and logistics
Work with Site Management Teams to ensure all systems are in place, and that all Personal, Contractors and Individuals are adhering to Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Health & Safety reports on performance targets, systems, monitoring, audits, and other critiques of their sites. Project Compliance
Exercises sound judgement throughout the Pre- construction and construction phase/lifecycle – And ensuring client confidence and project delivery.
• Produce short term programmes, phasing strategies and resource plans.
• Manage the cost and specification compliance of the project design.
• Chair and records actions from the monthly Project Review Meetings.
• Attends monthly client site meetings and prepares Contractors Report.
• Allocate resources on the project to ensure operational delivery within budget.
• Ensure supply chain and Procurement schedules are tracked and monitored to maintain subcontract orders are placed in line with programme; and materials are delivered to the procurement schedule.
• Monitor project progress and identify if the project is failing to deliver to the required performance and deal with appropriately and immediately. Commercial Management
Oversee the cost management of the project with the Project Surveyor including the development and communication of Cost Value Reports (CVR’s Monitor the progress of the project in line with revenue and Gross Profit targets. Put reporting structure in place to ensure that cost is effectively managed. Ensure the Buildability reviews are undertaken to realize cost effective design.
