🚁 𝗕𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦 | 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗜𝗥 𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘

The other week, members of the Collins team had the privilege of visiting The Air Ambulance Service’s Nottingham Air Base for a behind-the-scenes look at their lifesaving operations.

We met the critical care crew on duty – 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰, 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 – and learnt more about the expertise, teamwork and split-second decisions involved in every mission.

Critical Care Paramedic Stephanie Cook, who also looks after training and development at the base, was fantastic at sharing her knowledge and giving us an insight into what happens from the moment an emergency call comes in.

𝟮,𝟬𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬𝗺³ 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝘂𝘁 & 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹. 𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬𝗺³ 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸. 🚜⛰️

Our teams are delivering earthworks at serious scale in the north-east of Scotland, with mass grading operations now well underway across this 1,000,000m² site.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁:

🌍 1,000,000m² site area
🚜 300,000m³ topsoil strip
⛰️ 2,000,000m³ cut & fill
🪨 90,000m³ aggregates
🌱 300,000m³ topsoiling

At peak production, we're achieving outputs of up to 100,000m³ per week, with some of the largest kit in the Collins fleet helping make it happen -𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗼 𝟵𝟱𝟬𝘀, 𝟳𝟱𝟬𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝟲𝟬𝘀, 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗗𝟵𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝟲𝘀.

All part of a major infrastructure project that will help strengthen the electricity network and support future power demand. ⚡

𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗨𝗞 | 𝗝𝗖𝗕 𝟱𝟮𝟬𝗫 & 𝟰𝟮𝟬𝗫

You might have already spotted these three in action! 👀🚜

Before officially joining the Collins fleet, they were put through their paces on the quarry face demonstration area at Hillhead 2026.

We’re proud to have the first JCB 520X in the UK, alongside two of the first new JCB 420Xs in the country.

As some of the first machines off the production line, they arrived in JCB’s iconic yellow – but we couldn’t send them out without giving them a bit of the Collins treatment! 🤍

After adding our signature white, they headed out to site and are already hard at work. 💪

Future additions will be factory-finished in Collins white, so watch this space… 👀

☀️ What a day at Ashover Show! 🚜

It was certainly a warm one, but that didn’t stop so many of you coming over to visit the Collins stand – thank you! 👋

We loved getting out into the local community, catching up with familiar faces, meeting local businesses and giving people a closer look at the different sides of Collins.

There was plenty to see on the stand, including our Volumetric Mixer & Interlocking Concrete Blocks, Volvo Compact Equipment for sale, new Fendt & mixer, Case machinery and our latest surveying drone technology. 🚜

But we think we know who stole the show... 👀

Our Operator in Training mini digger was NON-STOP all day! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️🚜

It was brilliant seeing so many youngsters having a go and getting excited about the machinery. Hopefully, we’ve inspired a few future operators along the way!

Events like Ashover Show are a great opportunity for us to support and engage with the communities we work in, introduce the next generation to our industry and show them some of the careers and opportunities it has to offer.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us and to our Collins team for braving the heat and making it such a great day. ☀️👏

Some projects demand far more than moving earth - they require engineering expertise, meticulous planning, and the capability to deliver complex infrastructure safely and efficiently.

We're proud to have completed the earthworks package on this award-winning project for Galliford Try on behalf of Leicestershire County Council, recognised as Construction News' 𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.♻️

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱:
✅ 7.1km of new carriageway
✅ 10km of shared pedestrian and cycle routes
✅ Six new roundabouts
✅ Four bridge and culverted structures
✅ River diversion works within an SSSI
✅ Drainage, flood mitigation and biodiversity enhancement works

Across the project, our team successfully managed the movement of 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟱𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹, helping deliver a vital piece of infrastructure that will serve the region for years to come.
