Stunning Grandfather Clock

I was passed down the workings of a 1740 Grandfather Clock by John Elliot of Plymouth in Devon (where my ancestors lived) -without the case which had succumbed to wood worm. The clock needed restoring and a new case sought.

The clock workings have now been superbly restored by Alex Constable.

Unfortunately we were unable to source a case, after lots of searching we found photos, then Paul set about making a new case, to replicate the original in oak, but then waxed and stained to look aged. Vintage locks and hinges completed this stunning masterpiece, which now has pride of place in our hall.
