A Recent re roof project in Lancaster we've just completed. We were keen to keep this roof inkeeping with the traditional slated look, as we always try to do when installing new roofs to old houses. In this case, the original slate on the roof was at the end of its life span, so we were unable to reuse. In the end we opted for the slate look Sandtoft - Rivius clay tile as it was in budget and looks much better side by side with the old slate roofs. What do you think ?

"The wonky house" on St George's Quay , is a listed Georgian house. After hundreds of years of subsidence it has made this building one of Lancaster's well known sights. We re roofed it this summer and with it being listed, it meant that we had to use a local slate or Welsh. We were unable to use any modern insulation types , so we opted for a wood fibre insulation which was great to work with. Traditional heritage roof lights were also mandatory on this job. Definitely the wonkiest roof we will probably ever have to do!

This roof was the original, it was so rotten it had its own eco system living in it , from plant life to earth worms! We had to completely strip and replace everything other than the purling.
Was finished with Brazilian slate using the original roll top ridge tiles.

This customers guttering and fascia was rotten and leaking and in need of some desperate TLC , we cleaned out the old guttering, replaced the old fascia and installed gutter support trays.
