Coordination Tip of the Week 🚨

Always make sure you're coordinating with the latest models.

There's nothing worse than spending days coordinating a project, only to discover that the latest design team model wasn't loaded.

That's why it's vital to download and load the latest architectural, structural and MEP models as soon as updates are issued.

Regularly checking that everyone is working with the most up-to-date information helps avoid wasted effort and keeps the coordination process on track.

This makes it easier to:

👉 Coordinate using the latest design information
👉 Avoid reviewing issues that have already been resolved
👉 Reduce rework caused by outdated models
👉 Keep the entire project team aligned.

Good coordination starts with good model management. A simple habit of regularly updating your federated model can save hours of unnecessary work and help prevent costly issues later in the project.

Project spotlight: Infinity Labs 🔬

We’re excited to share another project we’ve recently had the pleasure of working on.

Working alongside Accolade Building Services, we’ve been involved in the Infinity Labs development at Southampton Science Park (a landmark three-storey laboratory building that will provide 3,400 sqm of new laboratory space, complete with a distinctive curved design and integrated green roof).

With limited ceiling void space and a high density of building services, careful BIM coordination and proactive clash detection were essential to minimise site conflicts, support efficient installation and maintain smooth project delivery.

Our role involved developing the Stage 4 design information into a fully coordinated Stage 5 model and drawing package, incorporating value engineering alongside ongoing design development to support efficient project delivery.

Coordination Tip of the Week 🚨

Use your Common Data Environment (CDE) as the single source of truth.

It sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how many coordination issues start because teams are working from different versions of the same information 🤦

When project information is scattered across emails, local folders and multiple file-sharing platforms, it's easy for teams to:

❌ Work from outdated models
❌ Miss important updates
❌ Approve the wrong revision
❌ Duplicate work unnecessarily.

All of which leads to confusion, rework, delays and increased project risk.

A well-managed CDE helps prevent this by ensuring everyone is working from the same information, at the same time.

A CDE gives you:

✅ Clearer communication across teams
