🔨 Decking Repair & Safety Upgrade 🌿

This decking area was a favourite spot for our customer to relax, but rotten joists beneath the steps had made it unsafe to use.

We replaced the damaged timbers, installed new posts, securely refitted the decking with extra screws, and finished the project with a new handrail and trellis.

Cut roof completed over in Hinckley for a fellow brother in trade, GKY Bricklaying & Building 👌🏼

🔨 Lower section roof completed with 2 x Velux openings trimmed out ready for installation at a later date
🔨 Ceiling joists fitted throughout this section
🔨 Main roof featured a small front apex on one side, with front and rear apexes on the opposite side
🔨 Finished off with black soffits, fascias and box ends to complete the look.

✨️Kitchen Installation After Fire Damage✨️

As part of a full house renovation, we completed this kitchen transformation following significant fire damage.

We started by self-levelling the floor to create a solid, even base for the installation. New spotlights were fitted throughout, bringing clean, modern lighting across both the kitchen and dining areas.

The kitchen was a Howden's Halesworth Porcelain finished with oak worktops, including a breakfast bar, main kitchen and sink run, plus a coffee station making use of an existing alcove from a former doorway.

We also built a tidy MDF enclosure around the extractor above the breakfast bar hob to neatly conceal the pipework and keep the finish clean.

To maximise space, we repurposed worktop offcuts to form floating corner shelves along with floating shelving beneath the bulkhead, adding practical storage in the breakfast bar area and making use of otherwise dead space under the stair bulkhead.

A clean and functional finish that makes the most of the space, resulting in a kitchen the client can enjoy once again after the unfortunate accident.

🔨 Stair Replacement After Fire Damage🪚

This project involved replacing a severely fire-damaged staircase as part of a larger refurbishment. The existing stair was beyond repair, so we carefully removed it and repaired the damaged section of the landing using new chipboard.

Once the new prefabricated staircase arrived, we installed and secured it in position, including fixing the newel posts. We then completed the look with a pine balustrade featuring square spindles, along with a landing return finished with a half newel post and cap.

As requested by the client, we also fitted a pig’s ear handrail along the stairwell wall 🪚. Adjustments were made to the bulkhead to ensure everything complied with current headroom regulations.

The stairwell was then over-skimmed and finished with decorating by the client 🎨, bringing everything together for a clean, modern result 🏡.

⚫️🔴 Fresh look on the New work van🔴⚫️

We recently had the van given a full exterior deep clean by .fat.shiner to get it looking its best and ready for the next step.

The new livery was then professionally applied by Hickman signs Ltd, giving the van a clean, sharp, and professional finish that really stands out on the road.

A great result and a big upgrade to how we represent the business day to day 🙌

🔨 Week 2 Progress – Full Renovation Update 🔥

All systems go on this project now…

We’re making serious progress as we move into the next stage:
✔️ Downstairs fully underway with boarding & plastering
✔️ Upstairs being patched and over-skimmed throughout
✔️ Bathroom prepped with backer boards & tanking ready for install
✔️ Client getting ready to fit their new bathroom

Everything is coming together nicely and the transformation is well underway 👊

Next up: All windows to be replaced & kitchen install & new staircase going in next week 👀

🔨 Full House Renovation Update 🔨

This one’s a big transformation…

After severe fire damage, we’ve had to take the property right back to a shell, stripping everything out to make it safe and ready to rebuild properly.

Stage 1 is now well underway:

✔️ Full rip out completed
✔️ First fix electrics & plumbing in progress
✔️ Old staircase case to be removed
✔️ Damaged joists to landing & bathroom replaced with new and boarded
✔️started insulating and boarding
Not the prettiest stage, but one of the most important 👊 Laying the groundwork to bring this home back better than ever.

Dealing with rising damp and putting the walls right🙌

We were called in to carry out damp remedial work on several internal walls that had been affected by rising damp. The goal was to remove the damaged material and install a new damp-proof barrier before re-plastering the surfaces.

Here’s what was involved:

🔨 Hacked off the affected plaster approximately 150mm above the damp course📏 Drilled and injected a damp proof solution every 100mm along the bottom brick course🧱 Applied SBR bonding to the prepared wall surface to help seal and protect the area🏠 Walls were then re-plastered by our plasterer, leaving them ready for decorating

This process helps stop moisture travelling up through the masonry and ensures the new plaster finish is protected from future damp issues.

Once decorated, the walls will look as good as new and the room will be properly protected going forward.
