Out with the old and in with the new.

The original waste pump-out tank was removed after developing leaks. It was manufactured from mild steel and had been installed using standard household plumbing pipework, so it was definitely due an upgrade.

A brand new made-to-measure stainless steel tank has now been fitted, along with proper thick-wall waste pipework throughout. The whole installation is now far cleaner, stronger, and far more practical, with improved storage space both under the bed and in the wardrobe area.

The system has also been redesigned with minimal flexible hose and far fewer joins, helping to reduce the risk of future leaks and unwanted smells.

We also fitted a brand new waste tank gauge with digital screen instead of the old one which just changed colour of light when full.

Just the tank insulation left to do and the job will be complete.

She’s finally in the water. ⚓

After months of hard work, preparation, and dedication, The Duchess is nearly ready to begin her journey along the Trent & Mersey Canal.

We’re getting closer to welcoming guests aboard for unforgettable food, drinks, and cruising experiences on the water.

Busy times here at the yard! 🚤⚒️

Our diary is filling up fast for:
• Hull blacking
• Grit blasting
• 2 pack blacking

We’ve also currently got two boats up for sale here at the yard — if you’d like to arrange a viewing, just send us a message.

The new restaurant boat is really starting to take shape and is nearing completion. It will soon be operating out of Kings Bromley Marina, and we can’t wait to share more updates with everyone. 🍴🚤

Alongside that, our latest fully bespoke narrowboat build is progressing well. This boat has been designed and built entirely around the customer’s own detailed drawings and specifications, making it a truly one-of-a-kind project.

Although we won’t be exhibiting at Crick Boat Show this year, anyone interested is more than welcome to come and take a look at the build in person here at the yard.

Due to an exceptionally busy period here at the yard, we’ve made the decision not to attend this year’s Crick Boat Show.

While we’ll miss catching up with everyone at the show, the demand for our bespoke narrowboat builds means our time is best spent in the workshop focusing on current and upcoming projects.

For anyone interested in commissioning a new build, we are still welcoming visitors to the yard by appointment. This gives you the opportunity to see our current build in progress, experience the quality and craftsmanship firsthand, and discuss your own ideas and available build slots with us in more detail.

NB Ripples looking smart after a fresh blacking following a pre-purchase survey.

Although this was mainly for aesthetics, as the hull is fully aluminium and built by Sea Otter, it still gives her a clean, finished look.
