After a lovely weekend in Scarborough, tonight we are back at it helping the fantastic Cottingham Parish Council prepare for Cottingham day.
Our work started with a feed of liquid fertiliser into all the hanging baskets and towers in Cottingham.
We then set about weeding and hoeing the centre circle in the memorial garden, followed by planting of our own home-grown Cosmos!
We then started the process of refreshing the round planters, starting at Milburn court tonight. 👍

They go up today. 🙂
It’s been an later season for many hanging basket plants this year. However, with careful planning (and a bit of battling the weather) we’ve managed to deliver DOUBLE the amount of plants from last year!

1 hours work today - a quick tidy and restore for a new customer 🙂

This had been a ‘problem border’ for the customer for quite a while. Today we’ve cleared the border (fully, and by the root) of all the old planting, restored the soil and replanted in a more suitable (woodland) planting scheme. 👍

The parish councillors installed the metal poppies last night, to mark the completion of the far bed in the memorial garden.
Genuinely warm and good people all. They give a lot for their community. Thank you Cottingham Parish Council for making our little team a part of this project.

How it started and how it’s going.
So far, we’ve cleared all the beds, improved the grass and installed 194 new plants into this garden.

Wait until June - it will be full of colour!

It’s quite an honour for me to work on this special garden dedicated to our war dead. A big thank you to the parish council. 🙂

First day at a new garden. I get the feeling I will really grow to love this one…

Very long grass, cut as far as we can (without scalping it). We’ve added some key ions to the soil to help. It should recover well now and look lovely and green this year. 🙂
