Part 1

It's been a while, and we have a few new faces on the feed, so I thought it was past time I introduced myself.

I'm Jasmine, owner of jdrestored, and you might have seen some of my furniture pieces pop up on your feed.

Growing up, I used to help my mum with many a project, from decorating to small DIY jobs. I was raised knowing that it was always better to restore and reuse products, both for the wallet and, more importantly, for the environment.

I have always had a love and want to create beautiful spaces. So when it came to moving out and getting my first, very own, home, having little to no budget (and learning how to be adult after graduating university), I started my restoration journey by necessity, upcycling a wardrobe and coffee table for my own new space.

You will never see some of my early pieces, (this is before I learnt the essential nature of properly preparing every piece 🤣) but through trail and error, I started to create some beautiful yet practical pieces. Always being proud that with every finished piece meant fewer items going into landfill.

◾️Vintage Find◾️

Who can resist a good vintage find. On my quieter days, I'm often found browsing and trying to source unique antiques and vintage pieces either for my own home or to style my furniture pieces.

During my most recent venture, I found these beauties! A twin set of vintage Bulgarian Pots, handmade in the region of Troyan. The stunning drip glaze whilst providing individuality also ensures these are food safe! Bonus.

Sourcing and rehoming finds like these help reduce landfill, new item production and, come on, who wouldn't want to have something as beautiful as these tp display in their home.

◾️Willow, the Sheesham Sideboard◾️
We absolutely are in love with the before and after comparison of this piece. This piece needed a LOT of prep work, such high quality, aged wooden pieces always do, but after all the cleaning, sanding, filling, scraping, removing varnish and old polish, and staining, we are so pleased with the finish we've been able to get on this beauty.

We've worked on a few of these sheesham pieces now and always love the challenge 💪

Painted using Burlap, purchased from our fantastic paint and supplies shop.
Stained using the ever reliable white wood stain
Finished using furniture finishing wax

Cured as always for over 2 weeks to maintain a scratch resistant finish and picked up a couple of days ago to some very happy owners.

If you have an aged yet sturdy piece of furniture that just needs a little love, please contact us for a free consultation.

Before and After

This gorgeous pyramid tallboy donated to us by one of you lovely lot, had good bones, made from heavy solid wood, and in a stunning unique tapered shape. However, it was in need of some sprucing up.

As always, we started with a good sand and strip of the existing finish, used our favourire Littlefair's white stain on the top and drawer fronts, and painted using Dixie Belle Paint Company Burlap for the base.

We are in love with how clean and light this piece looks now, and its versatile shape makes it the ideal storage piece for any room. Comment below telling us how you would use this piece ❤️

Available for sale on our etsy site.
