2 weeks ago, we kicked off a large-scale EICR testing programme at RPC Paving Solutions in Ruthin, it’s fair to say this one’s keeping us on our toes.

The site spans 15 buildings, covering workshops, offices and various production areas. Getting the planning and preparation right for a project of this scale, in a fully live working environment, was no small feat, but that’s exactly what we do best.

Early findings have identified some significant issues with ageing electrical components and wiring. It’s a timely reminder of just how important regular electrical testing is, especially on sites that have been running hard for many years.

Will keep updates coming as the programme progresses. 👷⚡

We visited in centre yesterday to take a look at some of their gondola lighting stands that have stopped working.

The first was nice and easy and just needed a new fuse in the plug top which is now now back up and running fine.

The other is an issue with the internal driver inside the gondola itself and the manufacturers will be coming out to fix

All in all a good visit and another happy customer 🫡💡💡💡

Had a callout to this little beauty for one of our long standing customers.

A 32A 3 phase commando socket and plug which is used to charge their site forklift trucks, had burnt out due to a loose connection.

We’ve cut back the burnt cables and re-terminated both socket and plug top correctly, all tested and now ready for use again once the FLT company give the go ahead after their inspection 💪🏼👌🏼

⚡️Carrying out an EICR this afternoon on a customer’s home to identify any existing issues before we start their full kitchen rewire project the back end of May, that way we can avoid any hidden costs later on⚡️

What is an EICR? ⚡️💡🔌
An Electrical Installation Condition Report is a full health check on the electrics in your property, basically the electrical version of a car’s MOT. You get a detailed report showing any defects and exactly what needs doing to bring it up to current standards.

In today’s inspection we’ve found a lot of issues but the main ones being that the property is wired with original 1960s tinned copper cables with some circuits that have no earthing at all. The customer now understands they need a full rewire and is happy for us to proceed.

Much better to discover it now rather than on day one of the project 👊🏼💪🏼
