🎉 Celebrating One Year of the FR Foundation! 🎉

One year ago, we proudly launched the FR Foundation, pledging £50k to support local charities and organisations making a real difference in our communities.

We’re thrilled to share that we delivered on that promise swiftly—and now, we’re pledging another £50k to continue this important work!

As part of this celebration, we’re excited to announce that applications are now re-opened and will be reviewed monthly.

To mark this milestone, we’ll be shining a spotlight on the incredible impact our donations have made over the past year by interviewing the organisations that have benefited from our support.

Each day, we’ll be featuring a different group and highlighting the inspiring work they do.

Kicking things off today, we’re starting with an interview with our MD, Dean Rogers, to discuss his motivations for launching the foundation and the impact it has made so far. 🎤

Day 2 of celebrating one year of the FR Foundation! 🎉

Today, we had the pleasure of catching up with Father Daniel at St Columba's Church in Anfield. It was a great opportunity to discuss how the FR Foundation has supported him and the local community over the past year.

The work Father Daniel and his team are doing is truly inspiring, and we're honoured to have played a part in helping them make a difference.

🔥 Fire Door Safety Week: Day 4 - Adam Steed in Action at Our In-House Training Centre 🔥

Adam Steed is already making strides, diving straight into quality assessments with our fire door and fire stopping teams at our in-house training centre. 🚪🔧

This week, Adam has been closely engaging with our site operatives, reviewing every detail of their installations to ensure they meet the highest standards and manufacturer requirements.

His hands-on approach ensures our in-house team is consistently delivering exceptional results while adhering to the most stringent fire safety standards.

By systematically navigating the entire process and offering constructive feedback, Adam is helping our teams grow and refine their skills—one quality check at a time.

🚪 Fire Door Safety Week: Day 3 - Comprehensive Traceability & Documentation 🚪

One of our recent door projects undertaken on the Christleton project consisted of 26 doorsets.

This project features comprehensive traceability and documentation readily accessible at a click of a button or a scan of our QR code, equipping our client with vital information regarding their new fire doors. We approach our projects with meticulous attention to detail throughout all phases, not solely during installation.

Several key aspects contributed to the success of this project, which are integral to our methodology for all door projects:

🔹 Interaction with our estimating, surveying, and contract teams during the initiation stages

🔹Site visits with the manufacturer

🔹Factory meetings with the door manufacturer to ensure specifications, designs and queries are addressed.

🔹Pre-start meetings with our installation and site management teams running through the installation requirement process.

🔹Providing our site team with comprehensive documentation at the touch of a button on their PDAs.

🔹Each door is individually assessed during the installation and then accompanied by its own post-inspection report once ready for handover.

🔹Gathering all relevant supporting documentation, including manufacturer installation and test evidence, field of applications, design specifications, door schedules, layout plans, and linear seal products and more.

🔥 Fire Door Safety Week: Day 2 - Welcoming Adam Steed to the Team 🔥

We're excited to introduce Adam Steed as the newest member of our fire safety team, joining us as Passive Fire Quality Control Manager! 👷‍♂️🚪

Adam brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Passive Fire Protection (PFP) sector, having worked with FIRAS for several years and even developing passive fire courses for the industry.

His diverse background also includes:
🔨 Starting his career as a joiner, installing fire doors, giving him hands-on experience in fire safety from the ground up.

🏗️ Training in compliance, beginning with asbestos as a Surveyor/Analyst, and further expanding his expertise into the passive fire sector.

⚛️ Working in the nuclear industry as a surveyor on Magnox decommissioning sites in North Wales.

📚 Serving as a tutor, where he trained industry professionals in regulatory standards of compliance for passive fire protection.

In his role at FR Fire Protection, Adam will be:

✔️ Conducting quality assurance checks on fire door and fire stopping installations.
✔️ Collaborating with contract and site management teams to ensure successful project delivery.
✔️ Assessing and enhancing the technical competence of our installation teams.
✔️ Providing on-site audits, technical briefings, and training to ensure compliance with FIRAS obligations.
✔️ Developing internal training courses to further improve our teams' knowledge and skills in passive fire safety.

We’re thrilled to have Adam on board, helping us continue to set the standard for fire safety across all our projects!

🔥 Fire Door Safety Week: Day 1 - Awareness & Education 🔥

As part of Fire Door Safety Week 2024, we're proud to celebrate our ongoing commitment to fire door safety.

This year’s theme of raising awareness and education ties perfectly with our continuous investment in our team’s development and the quality of our work.

Congratulations to Gary Barton and Jimmy Myles FDIS for passing their Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) Diplomas, and to Lee Johnson DipFD, Liam Travis and Carl Henderson who are advancing to the next stage of training to become fully certified fire door inspectors.

Their dedication reflects our mission to meet the highest standards in fire safety.

We're also excited to share that 10 more of our colleagues are set to begin their FDIS Diplomas, ensuring that fire door safety remains a key priority for us.

🌟 Looking Back at Last Week’s Volunteering at Patmos Gardens 🌟

What a fantastic day we had last week at Victoria Settlement despite the rain! 🌧️

It was great to see our teams from Frank Rogers and Plus Dane Housing getting stuck in for The Big Help Out, including our MD Dean Rogers, who didn’t let the weather dampen his spirits.

We had the chance to catch up with Dean and Dennis Lally on the day to hear their thoughts on why this event and community efforts like this are so important to them. Stay tuned for their insights!

🎥 Because Pictures Just Aren’t Enough! 🏫✨

We’re excited to announce that our new build teaching facility at Christleton High School is now fully functional and ready for pupils and teachers to enjoy!

Alongside this, we also completed full upgrade and refurbishment works in other key areas of the school, including the cafeteria and IT suite.

🔐 Introducing Our Latest Initiative: 'The License to Practice' Course! 🔧

At Frank Rogers Building Contractors, safety is always our top priority. That's why we're excited to launch our newest initiative, the 'License to Practice' course.

Developed by our in-house HSE manager David, this comprehensive training ensures that all new operational staff receive in-house safety training alongside their company inductions, equipping them with the essential knowledge to work safely from day one.

Recently, our senior management team took the course for a test run with Dave, giving it the official green light for implementation.

We are committed to raising the bar when it comes to safety and ensuring every colleague on-site has the skills and knowledge they need to work safely and effectively.

🌟 Successful Community Event: The Big Help Out at Victoria Settlement Patmos Gardens 🌟

We’re proud to share the success of The Big Help Out event held on 11th September in partnership with Plus Dane Housing.

Volunteers from both Frank Rogers Building Contractors and Plus Dane Housing Dane came together for a day of litter picking, gardening, and giving back to the local community. This effort significantly enhanced the aesthetics of Victoria Settlement and reflects our ongoing commitment to social value and community support.

Jade Morris ANutr, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Plus Dane, said: “It has been great to see so many Plus Dane colleagues, as well as our partner organisations like Frank Rogers, so keen to get involved to volunteer their time to improve the communities we serve. Work like this makes a real difference to residents and we are really pleased to see the results from this event."

🔧 Project Recap: Christleton High School High School 🎒

Check out the latest updates from our Contract Manager, Lewis Culshaw, on the completed works we carried out on behalf of E3 Cube Ltd at Christleton High School.

🚪 Fire doors were installed with meticulous care under the supervision of our Head of Fire Door Compliance, Jason Sefton - CertFDI MIFSM.

We also designed, built and delivered a number of fully functioning state of the are classrooms, toilet facilities and teaching spaces to the highest standards under BREEAM.
