Following our involvement last year, our Eurocarrier has returned to provide marine support for the next phase of activity. Pictured is one of the barges being mobilised to site as preparations get underway.

Office Administration Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and adaptable Office Administration Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our business.

This is a varied role within a small office team, where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will need to be confident, organised, and comfortable communicating with both clients and employees.

Key responsibilities include:

- Answering telephone calls and handling enquiries professionally
- Supporting basic accounting tasks
- Managing purchasing and stores requisitions
- Supporting office tasks like employee training and booking travel
- Taking meeting notes
- General office administration duties

From time to time, the role may involve visiting our vessels on-site, so flexibility is essential and PPE may be required.

Requirements:

- Confident telephone manner and communication skills
- Good computer literacy
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
- Full driving licence

Our workboat 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 has had a busy couple of weeks supporting two different clients on recent marine site investigation projects.

Off Mostyn, the crew provided support for CPT operations, while back on the River Mersey they assisted with vibrocore sampling at Liverpool Cruise Terminal.

These projects highlight the workboats versatility as a stable and capable survey platform, supporting a wide range of offshore and nearshore geotechnical investigations.

We're pleased to be supporting the delivery of the new Immingham Eastern Ro-Ro Terminal with our Damen Stantug 1906, 𝗖𝗧 𝗢𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗻, currently on site assisting with the marine construction works for our client 𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗩.

The Immingham Eastern Ro-Ro Terminal is a nationally significant infrastructure project that will strengthen freight and passenger transport capacity across the North Sea.

It's great to see our team contributing to another major UK marine infrastructure project, working alongside Mark Robinson and the wider project team.

Carmet Signs for Damen Multi Cat 2309 at Seawork 2026

Southampton, Seawork – 10 June 2026 – Carmet is pleased to announce the official signing for the purchase of a new Damen Multi Cat 2309 (MuC 2309), marking a significant milestone in the company's continued growth and investment in its fleet capabilities.

The signing ceremony took place at Seawork 2026 in Southampton, where representatives from Carmet and Damen came together to formally conclude the agreement. Attending on behalf of Carmet were Josh Metcalfe, Patrick Metcalfe, and Nathan Collins..

The Damen Multi Cat 2309 is a highly versatile vessel designed to support a wide range of marine operations. The addition of the vessel will significantly enhance Carmet's operational capability and strengthen its ability to support both existing and future projects across the UK maritime sector.

"This acquisition represents a major step forward for Carmet Tug Company," said Josh Metcalfe. "As demand continues to grow across the marine and offshore sectors, investing in modern, versatile vessels is essential. The Damen Multi Cat 2309 will provide us with increased capability, flexibility, and reliability to support our clients' requirements."

Carmet also expressed its appreciation for Damen's support throughout the procurement process.

"From the initial discussions through to signing, Damen has been excellent to work with. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and support have made the process straightforward from start to finish. We have been particularly impressed by the speed at which the vessel has become available, allowing us to move forward with our fleet expansion plans much sooner than anticipated."

The purchase reflects Carmet's ongoing commitment to investing in high-quality assets that deliver operational excellence, safety, and efficiency. Once delivered, the new Multi Cat will join Carmet's growing fleet and play a key role in supporting marine operations throughout the UK and beyond.

𝗖𝗧 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻 has successfully completed back-to-back jack-up barge tows, departing from and returning to Hardinxveld.

The first tow supported a project in Holyhead, followed by a return tow from Avonmouth back into the Netherlands.

She carried out a short tow in the Bristol Channel, moving 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 from Bridgwater up the River Parrett across to Barry for demobilisation.
