Our homes are so much more than functional places, they are our sanctuary, our safe space away from the busy-ness and chaos of the world so it is essential that we give them the love and care they need. A beautiful home is not an indulgence, it is a necessary that supports us to go out and be in the chaos of the world without getting overwhelmed by it. My role is to implement my clients vision but for me it is also to leave them with a space which feels amazing, one where you can unwind and be yourself.

This project was one I did for a client to make her master bedroom feel more homely, we replaced the old bed with a custom made bed covered with a beautiful thick weave from and a linen piping fabric, also from . Throw and curtains bespoke by . Cushions and wallpaper sourced elsewhere.

Is it worth paying for quality contractors?

Over the years and with experience I feel it is important not to under estimate the value in using, looking after and sticking with quality contractors. A good contractor is not necessarily expensive though invariably you do pay more for quality but they always need to care about what they do. I don't normally post projects before they are completed but when the finish is this good it is lovely to see it before all of the furniture and finishes go in.
It took the team 6 days to lay this floor with the curved step and they have done a beautiful job. I have worked with this contractor for around 10 years now and I have to say they deliver with absolute care and detail every time. The step has now been templated for the curved nosing to be added and I can't wait to see it when it is all complete.
If you are embarking on a design scheme and would like to remove the hassle then I would highly recommend sourcing a team with experience and expertise to deliver your project to a high standard.

How to ensure a quality finish from your builders?

A recommendation is absolutely a good place to start but not something to rely on, as it doesn't always guarantee a good quality product at the end. Equally as important would be to visit a recent project completed or nearing completion from the contractor, which is good practice but again doesn't give any guarantees. Working with a professional who has a long standing relationship their contractors and knows the quality of their finish from the start to the end of a project gives you a greater peace of mind. All too often we find poor workmanship left by contractors which needs to be rectified. We have long standing relationships with a number of architects, engineers, surveyors, project managers and contractors who consistently delivery a high standard of finish, including the work that you ultimately will never see ie work to the sub floors, foundations and plumbing or what is behind fixtures and fittings.

I’ve been inspired by my incredible 13 year old daughter to do more with marketing as she has literally blown me away with the styling of her Christmas cards. They went from flat images on a white background to these. None of it was anything to do with me, all her ideas and her wish to present her work in the best light. Not only that but I love the simple designs in her cards and her commitment to create stock before going live and thanks to all her hard work she has sold out already. (More stock on its way I believe and a link to her shop below). Good on you gorgeous, with all this A1 coming our way the world is going to be crying out for creatives like you ❤️❤️❤️
