Over recent months, PCCs in Hertfordshire, Sussex and Thames Valley have hosted free tool marking events, helping tradespeople protect their equipment and deter theft.

A huge thank you to the Hertfordshire Police & Crime Commissioner and Herts Police for taking Project Trace: Hands Off Our Tools directly to the tradespeople who need it most.

Throughout May and June, FREE SelectaDNA Tool & Equipment Kits were distributed across Hertfordshire, helping local tradespeople protect up to 50 tools each and making their equipment far less attractive to thieves.

Today SelectaDNA joined the Hertfordshire Police & Crime Commissioner and Herts Police at Hemel Hempstead Selco as part of Project Trace: Hands Off Our Tools!

It was brilliant to meet so many hardworking tradespeople getting their tools marked!

Tool theft isn't just a crime, it's a direct attack on people's livelihoods. If stolen tools are ever recovered, with SelectaDNA police can trace them straight back to their owner and make it very difficult for thieves to sell tools on.

Merseyside Police is giving away FREE SelectaDNA forensic marking kits to motorcyclists on Tuesday 2nd June at Mann Island, Liverpool. Open to anyone travelling to the Isle of Man TT or who regularly rides in and around Merseyside.
