One camera installed… then the heavens opened! ⛈️🌧️

We made a start today for a new client, installing the first camera on their new shed/workroom before getting caught in the worst thunderstorm and downpour of the year!

We’ll be returning to complete the project with four more cameras, wireless bridges to extend the internet down the garden, and an access point providing strong, reliable Wi-Fi at the new building.

A very wet start—but a great project underway! 🐈‍⬛📹

🏡 4 cameras protecting the property

🚪 1 camera securing the entrance gate

With the gate located away from the house, we linked it back to the main system using Hikvision wireless bridges, providing a reliable connection without the need for disruptive trenching or cabling.

The entire system has been networked for seamless remote viewing through the Hik-Connect app, giving the customer instant access to live footage, playback, and real-time motion notifications directly to their smart devices—wherever they are.

Out with the old… in with the new!

This customer had two ageing analogue cameras that had finally reached the end of the road. Poor image quality, unreliable performance and technology that simply couldn’t keep up anymore.

Today we upgraded:

✅ New DVR
✅ 2 x Hikvision 3K ColorVu cameras

The difference is unbelievable.

No more washed-out, grainy footage. These new 3K ColorVu cameras deliver crystal-clear, full-colour images 24/7, giving the customer a huge jump in picture quality and far greater confidence that if something happens, they’ll actually be able to identify who’s there.

The before and after photos really speak for themselves. It’s amazing what modern CCTV technology can do.

Another one complete.

Yesterday’s job was the second fix and full commissioning of this Hikvision CCTV system, and I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out.

✔️ 4MP cameras providing full colour images 24/7.
✔️ Clean, discreet camera positioning for maximum coverage.
✔️ Professional wall-mounted rack cabinet to keep everything secure, tidy and easy to maintain.
✔️ Fully configured remote viewing, recording and motion detection before leaving site.
✔️ Finished off with one of our Black Cat Security warning signs as the final touch.

I always believe the little details matter. Anyone can get cameras on a wall, but taking the time to make everything neat, reliable and easy for the customer to use is what separates a good installation from a great one.

Every great security system starts long before the cameras and alarm go on the wall.

Today’s job was all about the first fix.

This is the stage where the foundations are laid—carefully routing cables, planning every run and making sure everything is in place for a clean, reliable installation later on.

It’s the part of the job that most people never see, but it’s one of the most important. Taking the time to do it properly now means a neater finish, better reliability and fewer problems in the future.

We don’t believe in cutting corners. We believe in doing it right from day one.

✅ New Orisec intruder alarm system
✅ Roller shutter contacts fitted to both garage doors
✅ External bell box installed on the garage for added visual and audible deterrence
✅ 2-camera Hikvision CCTV system, providing coverage of the driveway/garden and inside the garage/workshop
