A good project from the end of last year.

Between Christmas and New Year we carried out a planned shutdown to upgrade an existing 100A supply to 400A, setting the site up for a large PV installation coming later this summer.

A solid foundation in place now, ready for the next phase of works later this year.

From high-level containment and cabling to panel and detection install and now moving into testing and commissioning.

⚠️🚿 Shower Pull-Cord Warning 🚿⚠️

This is a 45A shower pull-cord isolator where the neutral cable has completely burnt out 🔥

Electric showers run at high load every day. If a connection becomes loose over time, it creates resistance ➝ resistance creates heat ➝ heat causes damage ⚡️➡️🔥

The scary part?
This happens out of sight, until it’s nearly too late 😬

🚨 Watch out for:

• Warm pull-cords
• Discolouration around the switch

What started as a heater circuit install quickly uncovered serious safety issues ⚠️
Exposed live conductors close to a metal enclosure, poor terminations, and a 10mm T&E incorrectly protected by a 63A MCB — with no consideration for volt drop or cable coordination.

We were instructed to carry out a full mains change, re-feeding the board in SWA to ensure correct protection, proper coordination, and reliable performance — all without nuisance tripping 🔧⚡️
