Special memory bear is delivered to a lovely family🧸🩷💙💜

I play tin whistle as well as Japanese drums. I go to local whistle class and there are so many lovely people. One day, this special lady from the class asked me to make a memory bear for her daughter from her mom's beautiful knits, quilted coat and a scarf. The materials were all so soft and beautiful colours in them👚✨

The key point this time was the scarf. She showed me a picture of her beautiful mum and she was wearing the scarf on her neck. I wanted to keep the style of it as much as possible because she said her mum always wore it.

Also I usually use white buttons to attach arms and legs on its body but this time, there were very stylish buttons on the quilted coat so I used them instead. It matches really well. As knits were very stretchy, it took some time to finish it off but came out beautifully🐻💕

I met her daughter too and she looked very happy with the bear. Your granny is always with you. (Actually I lost mine 3 months ago so I can connect with her as grand daughter)

Another special memory bear is delivered to its owner🧸💛✨

I always go to Magheralin Centra, shop everything we need and post everything to the world. 🛒📮🌎️

One day one of the lovely staff asked me to make her daughter's friend a memory bear. She gave me a lot of colourful clothes, a tie and some tags. I thought it's going to be a very sporty one and yes it turned out like photos.

The hardest part was the number 22 on the back. It was very close to each other on the original shirt so I had to cut carefully and add fabric on the edges. Also I didn't want to miss "Miami" on the top but it was too big writing so places M on left and IAMI on right. It was also tight writing to each other so I had to do a bit of work on them too. 🏀🧵💯

As you can see it turned out a beautiful memory bear. It was the bear owner's special birthday present I heard. Happy birthday and this special person to her will always be with you forever in your arms and in your heart. ⭐️🩵

✨🌸Kimono Remake🌸✨

One of my lovely friends who runs Japanese facial massage called Kobido Massage Massage Kobido HANA asked me to make this Kimono Jacket and Belt from traditional style of Japanese Kimono👘❤

I cut the bottom of Kimono to make it shorter and turned them into a belt to tie around her waist. As you know, Japanese Kimono have long and wide sleeves on both sides so I cut the bottom of sleeves and also shorten the length of sleeves as well.

The difficult part was to bring the lovely flower patterns right on the sleeves while shortened it up. I think it worked out ok😊 This time I used a lot of hand sewing. Took a while to complete but I was so glad that the owner of Kobido Hana, Jolanta likes it too🫶🏻💕

When I delivered it to her, she gave me some hand made dumplings from her home country. It was SO TASTY!!! I actually couldn't believe that they eat dumplings similar way as Japan or some other Asian countries. I should try to make them someday soon!! 🥟🍲

Thank you for having us at your wonderful International Women's Day event ABC Community Network. I was there to perform Japanese drums with my children as Kyoudokai Taiko Ireland and also I was doing Japanese calligraphy for everyone, displaying my works such as Memory bears and Japanese Kimonos as Fab Kimono too👘❤

I wrote many beautiful names in Japanese and all of them seemed happy me doing that. One stage, a wee boy came to me and said if I could write Papa and Mama in Japanese for their parents so I did as you can see in the picture. Such a lovely moment and so cute, I will never forget that moment.

There are many lovely information stalls including beaitiful handmade candles Betty Candle Studio, Japanese Kobido massage Massage Kobido HANA and reflexology stall Aya Green Wellness beside me. They were all lovely people and so glad I could meet them at this special event🌎✨

I couldn't go through every single stand as I was busy all afternoon but thank you all for the wonderful day and giving my girls great cheers and positive feedback about us.

Looking forward to attending this special event again next time🥰

Some of you know that I am not only a sewer but also a traditional Japanese drummer Kyoudokai Taiko Ireland. I will be at international Women's Day event at Jethro Centre in Lurgan this Saturday afternoon (28th March) to perform traditional Chichibu Yatai Bayashi and unique drum sounds all the way from my home town Chichibu, Japan🥁❤

6 Handmade shamrock costumes for St.Patrick's Day parade☘️🤍✨🌈

I have been working on this for a good while because I had to make it from designing patterns. The green fabric was very thin so I had to attach heavy interfacing between them.
The light green fabric for heart shapes are silk so it brought a shimmer into them. Added velcros on the side so that leaves can stay straight and people can see. The most hardest part was Golden glitter!! It literally went everywhere in our house but it worked ok at the end.

Just finished making them this morning and handed to St. Michaels GAC Magheralin. I can't wait to see our lovely local community wearing them tomorrow🥰

"Sis, you and me are always together." 💝🧸

I have 3 children at home and 2 of them are girls. Older girl wanted to make a bear with me and she cut her old school uniforms by herself, sewed half and I finished it off like this.

This is a different pattern from what I always use so it took time to work it out but as a first attempt, not too bad. Well done to my child 👏🏻✨

Also the younger one kept asking me "Can you make a bear for me too" so made it for her too🎉

She picked the materials I had by herself, including Kimono fabrics. As you can see a sign on its leg, that's a family logo that the previous Kimono owner had (Every family has a logo called KAMON in Japan). Love to keep the memory of Kimono on my daughter's bear😍

A pattern of flowers is a good timing for Valentine's Day too💐

Now I can relax and think about the next creations👘☘️✨

The first memory bear of 2026 🧸💛

This special bear is made from lovely fluffy yellow jumper, navy tie and stripy shirt. Every fabric is very nice and colours are also beautiful.

The special point of this bear is its toes. Those plane navy knits were attached on the inside of the jumper. I thought it's lovely to use it on its toes with the label of the jumper. Also attached a bit of silver sparkles on its back to make it more unique🎉✨

I really enjoyed every single making process. Thank you so much for asking me to make your special memory bear🥰

My first creation this year is Traditional Japanese New Year's food, Osechi Ryouri. 🍱🍣✨All hand made and it took two days solid to make them all. I enjoy making Osechi every year because it make me feel Japanese new year close to me. Hope you enjoy the pictures and details below😊

🍥Osechi 2026 Menu🍥
-Sushi
-Root vegetables simmered in soy sauce
-Two toned steamed egg
-Mashed Asian pumpkin with sweet chestnuts
-Boiled Asian pumpkins
-Sweet rolled omelet with Tofu and fish sticks
-Boiled black beans
-Pickled octopus
-Vinegared Japanese daikon radish and carrot salad
-Stir fried burdock root and carrots with shirataki noodles
-Japanese pork meatloaf with sesame seeds and dried green laver
-Soy sweetened small dried Anchovies
-Pan fried Salmon, marinated with white Miso and ginger
-Kamaboko (Boiled fish paste)
-Mochi (Sticky Rice Cake)

今年もおせち料理を手作りしました。蒲鉾が綺麗にでき、お餅も家族皆で協力してつき、海外にいても日本のお正月の雰囲気を味わえる事に感謝しながら美味しく頂きました。今年の年末もまた、おせち作りが出来ますように。
