Another staircase brought back to life

This staircase started as bare wood but needed some proper preparation to bring out its full potential. All holes were carefully filled and the treads were sanded to create a smooth, even surface.

To match the existing wooden floor, I applied **Fiddes Hard Wax Oil **which enhances the natural grain of the wood beautifully. A final coat of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Clear was then applied for extra durability and long-term protection.

The skirting boards were finished in anthracite, giving a nice modern contrast against the warm natural wood.

Staircase transformation in Maidenhead

This staircase was already raw softwood, so the goal was to bring it back to life and match it beautifully with the existing wooden floor.

All holes were carefully filled, and the treads were professionally sanded to achieve a perfectly smooth surface. I then applied Fiddes Hard Wax Oil – English to match the colour of the floor and enhance the natural character of the wood.

For long-lasting protection, the staircase was finished with a final coat of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Clear, helping keep the wood protected and looking great for years to come.

To complete the look, the side skirting board was painted in anthracite, creating a clean and modern contrast against the natural wood finish.
