Energy prices have risen significantly over the past three years, and they are not going back to where they were.

For homeowners still relying entirely on grid electricity, every unit of energy you use is priced by someone else, on terms you cannot control.

Solar changes that.

A well-designed solar system with battery storage allows you to generate your own electricity, store unused energy, and reduce how much you buy from the grid — helping protect your home from rising energy costs.

Typical complete home systems:

10 panels + 5kW hybrid inverter + battery storage from £7,395

15 panels + 7kW hybrid inverter + battery storage from £7,995

20 panels + 10kW hybrid inverter + battery storage from £8,995

Already have solar?
Battery storage systems available from £1,750

Flexible financing options are available, allowing many homeowners to start saving without a large upfront payment.

For many households, monthly energy savings and loan repayments are often closer than people expect.

One of the most common questions we get asked is whether a roof is actually suitable for solar.

The honest answer is that most are. But the details matter more than people realise.

Orientation makes the biggest difference. South-facing roofs are ideal, but east- and west-facing roofs still perform well and deliver a solid return. North-facing with heavy shading is the one scenario where the numbers rarely stack up.

Roof condition and structure matter too. A survey identifies any issues before a system is specified, not after. And the system size needs to match how the building actually uses energy, not just the maximum number of panels the roof can carry.

The only way to get a reliable answer for your specific property is a site assessment. We carry one out before any quote is produced, and we will tell you honestly if the case is not strong enough to justify the investment.

No pressure. No hard sell. Just an honest conversation with an engineering team that has been doing this for over twenty years.

Myth: Solar panels do not work well in the UK because of the weather.

Reality: the UK receives enough solar irradiation to make commercial solar a financially sound investment across most of the country. Solar panels generate from daylight, not direct sunshine. Overcast days still produce generation, at reduced output, but consistently.

The performance of a UK commercial solar system depends far more on system design and orientation than on cloud cover.

A well-designed system on a south-facing commercial roof will generate enough to make a meaningful reduction in grid dependency for most commercial buildings.

The weather is not a barrier. Poorly designed systems are.

The inverter is the component that determines whether a commercial solar installation performs or underperforms.

Most people never think about it. It sits inside the building, away from the panels, doing its job quietly. But the decisions made around inverter selection, sizing, string configuration, and cable management are where generation efficiency is either captured or lost.

This SolaX commercial inverter was specified for this building's load profile and panel configuration before it was ordered. The cable management was planned before installation began. Every string connection was made to specification and tested before commissioning was signed off.

The final image tells the complete story: the display showing the product serial number, confirming the system is live, registered, and generating.

This is what a properly commissioned commercial solar inverter installation looks like. Not just a product on a wall. An engineered component of a working energy system.

The difference between a system that performs and one that disappoints is almost always made before installation begins. Get in touch using the details below.

This is what a commercial solar programme looks like in progress.

The mounting rails are down, the string layout is set, and the array is being built out across the full roof to a design agreed upon before the team arrived on site. In the final image, the panels stretch the full length of this industrial rooftop, with the team still tying the last strings.

What the images cannot show is the work that happened before this. The site survey established the roof's structural capacity. The design that determined the string layout and inverter specification. The programme planning meant the team arrived on site knowing exactly what to do and in what order.

The installation is Stage Three of the Sustainable Energy Chain. It is the most visible stage. But it only runs this smoothly because Stages One and Two were done properly first.

Most solar content shows the roof. This is what a compliant commercial installation looks like inside the building.

The DC cabling from the panels runs down through the building on a planned cable management route, labelled at regular intervals to confirm it remains live during daylight hours even when the inverter is isolated. That labelling is a legal requirement on every MCS installation, not an optional extra.

The distribution board is where the solar system connects to the building's existing electrical infrastructure. The solar PV isolator allows the system to be safely disconnected for maintenance. The 415V danger notice and dual supply warning are there because this is a commercial building operating at high voltage, and the documentation has to reflect that.

The final image is the generation meter. It measures total energy imported from the grid, total energy exported to the grid, and instantaneous power in real time. This data feeds into export tariff payments and provides the documented evidence of energy performance that commercial clients need for sustainability reporting.

Every element was specified, installed, and signed off to BS 7671 standards.

This is what separates an energy engineering company from an installer. The roof is only half the job.

Every installation tells a story. This one starts on a bare roof.

Before a single panel arrives, the engineer is already on site. The survey determines the cable route, the mounting layout, and the structural constraints that will shape the entire design. Getting this right first is what makes the rest of the installation straightforward.

From there, the system expands into a programme that was agreed upon before the team arrived. Rail by rail. Panel by panel. Every connection is made to specification.

The completed array is what this household will see for the next twenty-five years. What makes it a system rather than just a solar installation is the final image: a SolaX inverter and Triple Power battery working together to capture, store, and deploy energy in line with the household's actual usage patterns.

This is Stage Three of the Sustainable Energy Chain. Installation and Integration. Delivered under a single programme framework, on time, on standard.

The final stage of the Sustainable Energy Chain is also the one that keeps the whole chain improving.

Stage Five is Reporting and Optimisation, where real performance data is used to measure outcomes, identify efficiency gains, and drive continuous improvement across your energy system.

For commercial and public-sector clients, this stage provides the documented evidence of carbon reduction required by sustainability reporting. For all clients, it delivers visibility. Exactly how much your system is generating, saving, and contributing to your energy independence.

Data without action is just numbers. Reporting and Optimisation turn that data into decisions, and those decisions into better performance over time.

This is the stage that makes the Sustainable Energy Chain a long-term programme rather than a one-time installation.

Ready to start the chain from Stage One? Reach out using the details below, and we will take it from there.

Installation day is not the end of the relationship. It is the beginning of it.

Stage Four of the Sustainable Energy Chain is Support and Maintenance, the ongoing performance management that keeps your system delivering what it was designed to deliver, year after year.

Our support and maintenance contracts cover regular system health checks, annual inspections, ongoing performance monitoring, and rapid response to any issues that arise over the operational life of your installation.

A solar array loses efficiency without maintenance. A battery storage system can drift from optimal settings over time. A heat pump running slightly off-specification costs money every day without triggering an obvious fault.

Support is not optional. It is what protects the investment.

To find out more about our maintenance contracts, drop us a message using the details below.

The design is signed off. The programme is planned. Now the work begins.

Stage Three of the Sustainable Energy Chain is Installation and Integration, where the engineering design becomes a physical reality.

Hyperion coordinates approved specialist subcontractors under a single programme management framework. That means one point of accountability for the entire installation, regardless of how many technologies are being installed or how many specialists are on site.

No gaps between contractors. No confusion about who is responsible. One team, one standard, one accountable partner.

This is how complex, multi-technology installations are delivered on time and on budget.

If you have a project that needs this level of coordination, we would love to hear about it. You can reach us using the details below.
