Here’s the side of electrical contracting most people never see.

Someone has to think ahead, solve the problems early, and make sure the whole project can actually be built properly.

That’s where Bryan Stanford, our Design Manager, and the wider JR Revell team come in.

Bryan started on the tools as an electrician, progressed into project management, and now leads our electrical and mechanical design department.

Because good design comes from real world experience, not just sitting behind a screen.

From early stage planning and coordination through to cable calculations, BS7671 compliance, CAD drawings and full electrical distribution design, the team stays involved from beginning to end to help keep projects moving.

Using Electrical OM and specialist CAD software, we design practical, buildable solutions that work on site, not just on paper.

No overcomplicated consultancy speak.
No disappearing after the drawings are issued.
Just clear communication, fast problem solving and a team that owns it from start to finish.

National BBQ Week has landed at the exact same time the UK hits temperatures no commercial site was designed for ☀️🔥

By 10am:
🥵 The plant room feels like a sauna
🕶️ Everyone’s suddenly an expert on “cross ventilation”
🥤 Cold drinks become site currency
🍔 And standing near rooftop containment basically counts as grilling yourself

Fair play to every team out there keeping projects moving this week.

A great moment seeing the new JR Revell banners up around Drapers Farm Sports Club.

After sponsoring and installing the club’s new solar PV system ☀️ it’s brilliant to now see our support is displayed around the ground at the home of Maldon Rugby Club 🏉 and Maldon Cricket Club 🏏

Community sports clubs like Drapers Farm rely heavily on volunteers, local businesses and people willing to give something back. Supporting a venue that’s used all year round by so many people made complete sense to us.

From floodlights to solar power we’re proud to continue backing a club that plays such an important role in the local community.

If you’re visiting Drapers Farm this season, keep an eye out for us around the ground.

We’re pleased to announce the latest additions to the JR Revell team.

Andrea, Tatie, June, Florence and Febi have officially taken up residence in the field for the summer alongside their lambs and have already settled in remarkably well.

Current responsibilities include:
🐑 Grounds maintenance
🐑 Welfare inspections
🐑 Looking adorable
🐑 Team morale
🐑 Unauthorised sprinting
🐑 Testing perimeter security

Monitoring of escape attempts remains ongoing and the JR Revell Fire & Security division is currently on high alert.

So far, no major incidents have been reported, although several members of staff have been caught abandoning work to provide “important sheep supervision”.

We’re hopeful the team integrates successfully over the coming months, with minimal chaos and acceptable levels of fence related drama.

Ollie the Pawject Manager is reportedly keeping a very close eye on proceedings 🐾

It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, so we thought it was only right to introduce one of the most important members of the JR Revell team… Ollie, our self appointed Pawject Manager 🐾

Known for his friendly nature, boundless energy, endless curiosity and the waggiest tail in the office, Ollie takes his role very seriously. From greeting every visitor like a long lost friend to carrying out regular “supervision rounds”, morale is definitely part of his job description.

When he’s not hard at work, you’ll usually find him snoozing under someone’s desk, although always with one eye open in case snacks or attention become available 🦴

Construction and engineering can be busy, high pressure environments, which is why having a team culture where people look out for each other matters.

Sometimes support is a conversation.

Sometimes it’s a cocker spaniel reminding everyone to stop for five minutes and smile.

One week on from an incredible day 🙌

Our 6 mud covered legends did us proud 💪🌊 and thanks to all the support, we didn’t just hit our target… we smashed it 💙

Over 20,000 people were there on the day, and being headline sponsors made it even more special

2nd and 5th place out of 350 participants… that might be hard to beat next year 👀

Best part, we’ve already got team members putting their names down again 👊

We’ve just hit 80% with only 2 days to go 🙌

If we’re honest, it’s been a tough push with it being the same day as the London Marathon, but the support so far has still been incredible 💙
