There seem to be SO many accounts having a pop at charity shops recently, and I’m not here for it.

I have shopped in them my whole life, volunteered, collaborated with them and now I work in one. Here are some of the things I am constantly reading recently that make me want to scream into my phone.

Empty advent calendars are such an amazing way to store silk scarves and accessories!

I found a cashmere jumper in my wardrobe that had been eaten by moths, so I panicked that all of my silk scarves were out and ready for the taking. I was going to get some zip pouches to hang from the door but this is SO MUCH CUTER! And tidier.

Well chuffed, and now I also remember what scarves I have 😂

I started working part time in retail when I was 15 years old.

Now I’m 34, and back to working part time in retail.

Am I a failure? Far from it.

I’ve done some amazing things, had some incredible opportunities, and overcome SO MANY traumatic events that would’ve ruined most people.

Every time I pick myself up, dust myself off, and get on with it.

And do you know what? Almost 20 years on and I’m still really, really good at retail - just not when I’m selling my own designs 😂

I have shopped in charity shops for as long as I can remember, and had an obsession with fashion my entire life. Now I spend three days a week surrounded by gorgeous clothes, selling them and making as much money for an amazing charity as I can. What a dream job!!

The pressure is off the business and I can make for the love of making, rather than it being tarred with the pressure of selling.

I’m not rewinding to start again, I’m just starting the next chapter in this weird little life ❤️
