New Edition Published: IGEM/UP/1B Edition 4

IGEM/UP/1B Edition 4 has been published, covering tightness testing and direct purging of gas installations using LPG/Air, natural gas or LPG.

The standard supports safe working across a range of situations, including new installations, upgrades, routine testing and where gas escapes are suspected. It also sets out when direct purging should be carried out.

The new edition is expected to be adopted as soon as reasonably practicable and becomes effective from 1 October 2026.

IGEM/UP/1B Edition 3 will remain in place until 30 September 2026.
