What's wrong with you lot? A watermain should be a minimum of 720 mm to 1250 mm deep, laid on a bed of sand or chick pea stone, then trace tape laid on top. The watermain pipework comes through the building in a minimum of 100mm sleething. The watermain itself has to have the appropriate installation (e.g., armour flex with a minimum of 25mm wall thickness) and appropriate capping at both ends of the sleething. Then a good stop tap, double check valve, then drain off after it... It's not difficult... make sure you take photographs as evidence of work carried out. No, I will not just sign things off, sod off...( most use 25mm MDPE blue pipe for the job, but other materials are used)
In UU areas, they want the new stop tap and chamber in the boundary of the properties so that there is more expense to the job...
