Working within the strict confines of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, Statutory Instrument No 128. We have many years in depth experience of high, medium and low temperature pressurised heating systems. In addition, we have extensive knowledge of boosted water technology and controls, single or multi pump including PLC and variable speed drives. We also have several WRAS accredited RPZ valve testers for all makes of RPZ valve assemblies which require annual test and certification in accordance with AIM08 (WRAS Regulations). PressBoost know it is essential to maintain pressure vessels on a regular basis as the gas charge is critical to the good operation of the plant and to guarantee and extend the longevity of the equipment. In conjunction with this it should be noted that there are mandatory and statutory requirements under the P.S.S.R 2000 regulations, therefore we offer, fixed price standard maintenance packages on a bi-annual basis. Another pressure unit installation completed in York.

Kieran Shields and Andrew Shelley attended site to replace an existing pressure unit that had developed multiple failure points and was no longer providing the reliability required.
The old system was removed and replaced with a new Grundfos twin-pump, digitally controlled pressure unit, providing improved reliability, control and performance.
A tidy installation and another system brought up to date by the PressBoost engineering team.

Digital Pressurisation Unit Upgrade.

Two outdated analogue pressurisation units have been replaced with new Grundfos igital pressurisation units, providing a modern and more reliable solution for the building’s heating and chilled water systems.

As part of the upgrade, the existing rusted expansion vessel on the chilled water system was also replaced with a new vessel, helping to restore the system to a reliable operating condition.

The new Grundfos units provide improved digital control and monitoring compared with the ageing analogue equipment, making system operation and fault identification much clearer for ongoing maintenance.

A manufacturer's building in Cheshire was operating with an obsolete dual pressurisation unit serving two systems. Rather than replacing it with another combined unit, we chose to separate the systems to eliminate a single point of failure and improve long-term reliability.

The installation included a new Grundfos PHT digital pressurisation unit alongside a Reflex diaphragm expansion vessel, providing independent operation for the separated system. As agreed with the site team, the equipment was also relocated to a more accessible position, significantly improving future serviceability and maintenance access.

Another successful pressure unit upgrade completed in the North East.

Our engineers replaced three faulty Armstrong pressure units with new Grundfos PHT pressurisation units, providing the site with a modern, reliable solution for maintaining system pressure.

The new Grundfos PHT units offer improved control and monitoring, helping to protect the system while providing dependable day-to-day operation.

Central Manchester - Apartment Block

💡Spotlight on a recent installation

We were recently called in to provide an alternative quote for this apartment block in Manchester City Centre.

✅ We provided the right solution and successfully won the job to replace the existing set which was considered end of life and down to 1-pump out of 3.

🔧 Our engineers attended during normal working hours with a planned interruption to water and made light work of this job. The existing pumps were significantly oversized 11kW. We re-sized this appropriately for the block and total demand fell on this new 5.5kW set. Still working Duty/Assist/Standby, this set is going to dramatically reduce the energy usage for this building.
