Called to a snapped key
Once removed it became obvious that the mechanism had jammed and was not allowing the key to fully turn, hence it snapped
The old system is obsolete but luckily replacement lock cases are still available.
Changed all three, adjusted the hinges and strikes, oiled and tested.

Called to a door whose multiple point system wasn’t releasing at the top of the door.
After opening the door and stripping it down the top driver was shattered.
Once a new system was fitted it was obvious the door was far too stiff to lock on the top hook bolt.
A hinge adjustment fixed the problem.
Remember if your door is difficult to lock it’s far cheaper to have it adjusted before it fails and needs new parts.

Even on holiday a locksmith never rests. It’s been cloudy for 2 days and the suns shining, the gate to the pool had jammed shut.

Just arrived in Kefalonia🇬🇷
Phone rings, little Sister calling
Bu**er, elderly mother 🤔🤔
Nooooo!
Jammed door, locked on the bottom but top out of the frame.
Massive strain on the mechanism in my opinion.
She’d called another locksmith as she knows I’m away but calls me too.
Without being cocky, I talked the neighbour through how to open it over the phone.
Sorry other locksmith but blood is thicker.
I’ll call you on my return Tom😜

Not the usual lock pictures I know.
Attended a faulty lock on a property a few yards from the Longmynd.
After fixing the problem went up the Longmynd and had a chat with a ewe and her lamb.

Another smashed multipoint due to

New system fitted and door realigned, cams and strikes adjusted.
Closes and locks lovely now.

Moral of the story is —

If your door is stiff to lock or even unlock it’s better to pay for an hour of our time to adjust it than pay for new parts even a complete system and still have to pay for the time

Every time you copy a key, it gets slightly worse.
Also the case was deteriorating and rusty plus the anti pick curtain / bolt thrower is worn.

A new lock sorted out the problem👍

New lock V old lock isn’t difficult to tell😉
