Some interesting proposals for this wraparound kitchen extension in the Peak District. Tricky roof pitches and a restricted boundary present a challenge here but we think this contemporary timber clad extension featuring a glazed corner will offer the space and light needed in our clients new kitchen.

This stunning remodel of a Grade II Listed property is reaching completion. The ground floor was a warren of corridors with a small dark kitchen. It’s been a long process but we have received planning approval this week for this contemporary, wraparound side and rear extension in the Tideswell conservation area in the Peak Park. Proof that not all extensions have to be traditional, in-keeping with the historical setting.

Great to see this project on site earlier this week. The timber frame structure is up and almost ready for its charred timber cladding to be installed. Slim profile, corner glazed sliding doors will open up the living space and allow incredible views across its stunning Peak Park location.

This small rear kitchen extension project is getting ready to be submitted for Pre-App advice. Being in a conservation area we need to ensure our contemporary choice of Zinc standing seam will be supported by officers before formal submission. We love the simple design and contrasting materials.

We have had a busy few months with loads of projects at different stages of the design process. This is one of the sketch options for the development of a tiny cottage and workshop building in a conservation area in the Derbyshire Dales. There is some challenging highways issues on this one but it will form a stunning holiday home when complete. It is important to conserve this history here before it it lost completely.

It was great to revisit this ‘almost’ complete rear extension this week. The extension has completely opened up the kitchen dining area with corner glazing maximising light and views of the garden. Another Derbyshire extension on the drawing board. This proposal is designed within permitted development rights to bring light into and increase the footprint of this bungalow in the dales. The property has stunning views but privacy is also important, so orientation of the glazed gable is an key factor in the design.

A great design meeting with our clients in Bakewell this morning to discuss the options for their extension and loft conversion. They are keen to incorporate a sloped, glazed roof to allow light to flood into their dining space from above. We look forward to developing the design further, preparing the planning application and technical drawings so the vision can become a reality.

Prior Approval was granted last week for the return of the ground floor level of this historic building into four apartments. The building has an abundance of historical features with huge bay windows to the rear overlooking Matlock. The upper levels are already undergoing renovation so watch this space for progress photos of the apartments.
