Today’s job was all about making a little girl’s dreams come true! 🏡✨
We transformed that pile of timber panels into her very own beautiful garden playhouse—ready for plenty of adventures, tea parties and happy memories! ❤️
And while we were there, we even found time to pop some garden furniture together too… because apparently one giant wooden puzzle wasn’t enough for the day! 😉🤣

MAYFIELD BUILDING AND MAINTENANCE
🪚 OLD-SCHOOL CARPENTRY — DONE BY HAND 🪚
This traditional timber front door had badly damaged boards across its lower section, but it was still far too good to replace.
The damaged timber was carefully removed and replaced with new boards, individually fitted and shaped the old-school way using traditional hand tools, including a hand plane, to achieve a neat fit while retaining the door’s original character.
Once repaired, the new timber was prepared and the door fully redecorated, giving it a fresh lease of life.
Sometimes the best solution isn’t replacing the whole door—it’s using proper craftsmanship to repair what is already there.

🔨 TIMBER CONSERVATORY RESTORATION & REDECORATION 🏡
Another tired timber conservatory given a new lease of life by Mayfield Building & Maintenance.
The existing timberwork had started to deteriorate, with areas of rot, cracking and failing paintwork, particularly around the lower sections and window sills.
Rather than replacing the whole conservatory, we were able to repair, restore and protect the existing timber, dramatically improving its appearance and helping extend its lifespan.
Works included:
🪵 Removal of damaged and rotten timber
🔨 Timber repairs and making good
🧰 Filling, sanding and thorough preparation
🪟 Preparation around all window frames and glazing
🎨 Primer, undercoat and exterior finishing coats
🌦️ Weather protection to help protect the timber for years to come
