At some point, I need to dig up, split & move the cheeky rampant ‘little carlow’* aster, as it’s desperate to excape the confines of its raised bed. 😮

If you have a gap in a bed/border that could be filled with this late flowering beauty, I’ll be offering generous rooted clumps @ £7.00.

It’s a bank holiday but the work doesn’t stop! I managed to get a glorious coreopsis (yes I am quite obsessed with them) called calypso.

It’s only variegated!!!!

The flower is similar to sunkiss with a red inner but it has a rather lovely crinkly edged petals.

It is such a lovely thing and quite prolific that er… I’ve already taken 36 cuttings. 😬

The recent heat did affect our final market sales total for 2026, so we’re back to a bit of boot-strapping but nothing beats propagating and growing your own.

Today (apart from trying to dodge the torrential rain) we purchased some fantastic stock plants, from which we can take cuttings.

We went for all perennials.

1. rudbeckia goldstrum which is very sturdy & a great bloomer.

2. peach agastache, one if which performed well on plot.

3. the finest geranium money can buy - Rozza aka Rozanne. An incredible flowering powerhouse beloved by pollinators and its RHS approved with k***s on.

4. the divinely decadent chocolate cosmos - yummy.

Form an orderly queue! 😂😂😂
