Has your van ever actually brought you a customer?

Not somebody who already knew you.

I mean someone who's seen the van parked up, followed it in traffic, spotted it outside a job or taken your number from the side of it.

I’m interested because you hear all the time that a sign-written van is basically a moving advert — but I’d rather hear from people who actually use one for work.

Has yours ever directly brought you an enquiry or a job?

Ordering custom labels? Measure the space they're actually going into.

It sounds basic, but “about 100mm” can look very different once the label is on a small panel, box or piece of equipment.

Width × height in millimetres is ideal.

And if you're not sure what size would look right, a quick photo of where the label is going can be useful as well.

Much easier to get it right before they're printed.

Before you peel the backing off anything, lay the whole van kit out first.

Match each piece to the side, rear or bonnet and make sure you know where everything is going.

Sounds obvious, but it's much easier sorting it out on the floor than trying to work it out halfway through fitting it to the van 😂

A little bit of preparation makes the job a lot less stressful.

A sticker doesn’t have to be a rectangle just because it’s a sticker.

Standard square and rectangular labels are perfect for plenty of jobs, but sometimes the shape of the logo deserves to be part of the design too.

Cut-to-shape stickers follow the outline of the artwork rather than putting everything inside a box, which can give the finished sticker a much more individual look.

It won’t suit every logo or every application, but it’s worth knowing the option is there.

What would suit your logo better — a standard shape or something cut around the design?

The print is only half the job.

When most people look at van graphics, they notice the design, the colours and how smart the finished van looks.
