This project has been an absolute delight! A daunting very sloped space has become a joyous garden for the clients and their visiting family and friends. Working with JPS Landscape Construction we overcame the topography and stony ground by creating retained planters filled with good soil and abundant planting. This gave us the chance to give the clients a flat lawned area - something they really wanted for their young grandchildren to be able to play on. The terraced planting wrapping around the terrace gives the feeling of being hugged by the plants and the pollinators are already loving it 🥰 Huge thanks to Jason at JPS Landscape Construction for expert landscaping, Kingsdown Nurseries for plants and Hannah at Bloom Gardens for getting the plants in the soil 👏👏👏

Last week saw me setting out 1200 plants for the latest phase of the grounds redevelopment Shaw House for West Berkshire Council before planting was carried out by a group of wonderful volunteers. Planting will be completed in the Autumn with the addition of lots of roses and bulbs. Each one of the upturned pots in pic 2 represents a rose so it will be quite the spectacle next summer! The design is inspired by an Edwardian rose garden in this location which featured in Country Life Magazine back in 1910. More to come…

Had a lovely visit to this week. Stunning to see the carpet of snowdrops and the sun even graced us a couple of times, making them glisten 😌 But there are also some amazing vistas throughout the grounds - well worth a visit for anyone interested in gardens and nature
