Asian hornet warning as bee-killers could bring ‘ecological nightmare’ to UK. Members of the public are strongtly encouraged to report any sightings of the Asian hornet on the Asian Hornet Watch App! You can find a lot of information on how o identify an Asia hornet from the App. More importantly, you can make a different in protecting our native bee population by reporting any potential sightings of these aggressive Asian hornets!

You know you are dealing with a pretty serious infestation of cockroaches, not only when you catch a large number of these insect pests just days after putting multiple traps down, but also when you catch cockroaches of various stages of their life cycle - from the young stages (nymphs) to the adult stages! Also identified a number of adult cockroaches on the glue traps, carrying their egg case (the ootheca!), which contains between 30 - 40 eggs!! A successful cockroach eradication well on it's way!

A very interesting read on peridomestic cockroach species - those that live both indoors and outdoors. Many of those can be found in the UK. Interesting fact is that 'Peridomestic cockroaches often move indoors when the weather outside becomes too hot, wet, dry or cold, or when the population gets so large that the outside harborage can no longer contain them.' Hence the source of these cockroach infestations are often outdoors, around the infested building.

The current cold spell is definitely driving these rodents indoors and causing a lot of damages and contamination in many homes. Give Us a call for an initial survey if you hear noises in your loft, cavity walls and if you see signs of rodent infestation such as rat/mice droppings, gnawing/teeth marks, damages to food products etc. Remember that an actual sighting of a live rodent during the day can only mean that the infestation is very high: rodents are nocturnal animals and only come out in broad daylight when they are high in numbers and compete for food!! Don't let these pesky pests stress you, we are here to help take that stress away!

The weather brings all sorts of problems, and it turns out the cold snap could even encourage rats to pop up. People are being urged to take measures to try and keep them away
