07/01/2026

We're excited to be offering three FREE webinars about seed saving this year as part of our project, funded by the The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Designed for individuals or community vegetable growers, with little or no experience of seed saving, the first webinar kicks off on 27 January and is all about Planning your Growing Space for Seed Saving.

You will learn:
🫘The key principles for seed production
🫘Basic isolation & pollination strategies
🫘Population sizes
🫘Space requirements and support structures
🫘How to plan your growing space and growing year

The garden is now CLOSED for the winter season. We wish everyone a restorative and joyful winter, and a huge thank you to all those who have supported the community garden this year. Our opening hours and first planned events for 2025 will be updated in spring. We look forward to continue working toward a local agroecological food system and sharing the joy of community horticulture.

Green Hustle 2024 🌻 In partnership with University of Nottingham, we took a pop up garden to Nottingham City Centre, connected with hundreds of people about growing our own food, inspired a number of individuals to give growing a go in their small spaces, launched a survey about local food growing, and gave away over 500 pots of pea shoots for more homegrown salads. A couple of days later we installed the garden at Welbeck Primary School, transforming a small unused area into a space where children will learn to grow vegetables.

Through frosty winter mornings and sunny spring like afternoons, we made great progress last week at the Education Garden clearing space, building, and installing raised beds. Exciting to see the garden develop and the possibilities it holds! ❄️🌱 The Urban Worm CIC Moo Haven west Bridgford
