When installing an automatic barrier to detect vehicles, monitor the passage area and protect the zone beneath the boom, road surface work is often required, adding costs and complexity to the installation.

We’ve found a way to make your job easier with FEIG’s MWD SBP, the Smart Radar Scanner for automatic barriers, featuring intelligent millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar technology. 🔧

🚗 Detects approaching vehicles and triggers barrier opening according to the configured settings.

🛡️ Monitors the area beneath the boom, detecting people or vehicles within the protection zone.

👤 Distinguishes between people, vehicles and stationary obstacles.

🔩 Mounted directly on the barrier housing, it eliminates the need for buried induction loops or cuts in the asphalt.

Configuration is handled via smartphone using the MWD Scanner Assistant app over Bluetooth.
You can easily set detection zones, define opening and protection behavior, configure filters for people and vehicles, and select outputs, all through the app with the help of animated visual guidance.

This device makes a real difference in car parks, business premises, residential complexes and controlled vehicle access points.
