Wow! What a weekend of celebrations in Torvizcon for the fiesta de San Antonio Abad! Fires 🔥, fireworks, food and drinks on every street in the village. They certainly know how to party in La Alpujarra.

After recent heavy rain I decided to fit a more substantial roof/shade to the pergola roof to keep the log store dry for the cold nights. A New Life in the Sun has told us that our episodes start on Channel 4 on Monday 19th January so tune in to see the journey from run down town house to home and rental accommodation!

There's been a real bite in the nighttime temperatures over the Christmas week. Defrosting the car each morning reminded me of life on Tower Hill Road! On the plus side, the mountains look spectacular and I had an excuse to whip out my chopper!

When we came to live in Granada, I didn't realise quite how amazing the place is. 1/2 an hour south to the beach or an hour north to our very own ski resort. On a rainy Sunday, we chose the the ski resort.

Up early this morning and headed over to our friends house a few valleys over to help fit a couple of new log burners. Only 3 degrees when I left, but nice and sunny again. The drive to their village is a joy, and I just had to stop and take in the view of Sierra Nevada.
