🚧 Project Update – Dolgellau Ambulance Station 🚑

Works are progressing well on our refurbishment and reconfiguration of the new Dolgellau Ambulance Station for the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Over recent months, the project has moved through the demolition and alteration stages and is now well into the main internal construction and fit-out phase, with strong progress being made across the site.

Recent progress includes:

✅ Extensive internal and external drainage package completed, including new below-ground connections and chamber installations
✅ Structural alterations and internal reconfiguration works complete
✅ 1st Fix M&E complete
✅ Stud partitions and boarding complete
✅ Additional structural ceiling works and fire capping complete
✅ Concrete slab reinstatement and floor preparation carried out
🔁 Plastering nearing completion
🔜 2nd Fix commencing shortly

A huge amount of hard work has gone into reaching this stage. Credit to our team and subcontractors who have been pushing the programme forward, maintaining high standards and working collaboratively to keep progress moving.

Delivered as part of a wider programme of works at the school, we’re pleased to have completed and handed over the new front entrance ramp at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn Secondary School

The new installation provides a fully DDA-compliant entrance, improving accessibility and ensuring safe, inclusive access for pupils, staff and visitors.

It’s always rewarding to deliver projects that make a meaningful difference to everyday use of a building - particularly within our local schools and communities.

Celebrating National Apprentice Week 🔨

At Chesworth Construction Ltd, we’re proud to support the next generation of skilled trades - and National Apprentice Week is the perfect opportunity to recognise the dedication and progress of our apprentices.

Our 1st Year Carpentry Apprentice, Rhodri Davies, joined us in September 2025 and has already made a strong impression on site. Working under the guidance of Gerallt Jones (Lead Carpenter), Rhodri is developing his practical skills, gaining valuable hands-on experience, and becoming a valued member of the team.

Recently on our Dolgellau Ambulance Station project, he’s been involved in first fix works including studwork, patressing, metal stud partitions and plasterboarding - continuing to grow in confidence and competence.

Rhodri shared:
“Starting my apprenticeship with Chesworths has been a great experience. Being mentored by Gerallt has really helped me improve my skills and understand the trade properly. I’m proud of how far I’ve come in such a short space of time and excited to keep progressing.”

As part of his apprenticeship, Rhodri attends college in Newtown one day a week, building his technical knowledge alongside his site experience.

Investing in young talent is vital to the future of the construction industry, and we’re proud to be playing our part in developing skills for the future.

🏌️‍♂️ New Practice Nets Installed at Oswestry Golf Club!

We’re delighted to have worked with Oswestry Golf Club to deliver new practice nets, providing members and guests with upgraded facilities to enjoy for years to come. The new practice area provides golfers with a fantastic spot to warm up, practice, and perfect their swing before heading out on the course.

🚧 Sectional Completion – Community Area at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn Secondary School

Chesworth Construction Ltd is proud to announce the sectional completion of the new Community Area at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn Secondary School.

This phase of the wider project comprised a full internal refurbishment of the block, including the creation of an accessible W/C, installation of new aluminium doors with access control systems, a new kitchenette and staff area, and high-quality finishes throughout. The work has provided new spaces for learning, office accommodation and improved facilities, enhancing the experience for pupils, staff and the wider school community.

🚧 Sectional Completion – Toilet Block Refurbishment at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn Secondary School

Chesworth Construction Ltd is proud to announce the successful completion of our summer refurbishment project - an important milestone within the wider construction programme we are currently undertaking at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn!

Delivered to a strict 6-week programme, this refurbishment was critical to ensure the facilities were ready and fully operational for the return of pupils at the start of the new term. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our team, we achieved handover on schedule and to the highest standard.

🚑 New Project Announcement 🚑

We’re proud to share that Chesworth Construction Ltd has been awarded the contract to deliver the new Ambulance Station in Dolgellau on behalf of the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust (WAST).

The project will transform a former car showroom into a state-of-the-art ambulance station, delivering modern accommodation and operational facilities for crews serving Dolgellau, Gwynedd, and the wider Snowdonia region.

Key elements of the scheme include:
☑️ Full refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing building
☑️ Installation of new mechanical and electrical systems
☑️ New internal and external finishes throughout
☑️ Specialist facilities and equipment designed to support ambulance operations
☑️ Enhanced access, landscaping, and external works

🎉 Project Completion - Cwrt Mawr (Block E) Student Accommodation

We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of the refurbishment project at Cwrt Mawr (Block E) for .university

Comprising 6 student flats and 58 bedrooms, the work that has been carried out has significantly upgraded the accommodation block, providing students with a safer, modern, and more comfortable living environment. It stands as a testament to our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality construction services within the education sector.

🏗️ Scope of Works:

✅ Complete refurbishment of all communal living spaces
✅ Installation of new Ellis kitchens and appliances, including Aberystwyth-themed, custom-printed glass splashbacks
✅ Complete refurbishment of all shared bathrooms and shower rooms
✅ Interior redecoration across all flats and communal areas
✅ New flooring throughout
✅ Formation of new flat entrances and fire-rated entrance doors
✅ Extensive fire-stopping to all existing doors and fire compliance upgrades throughout
✅ Complete re-roof of pitched tiled roof, including installation of new felt and battens
✅ Flat roof refurbishment; including full replacement of bay window roof coverings
✅ Replacement of fascias, soffits and rainwater goods

Progress continues at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn Secondary School 🙌

Extensive roofing works are now well underway as part of our comprehensive refurbishment programme. As we approach the summer holidays, we’re preparing to accelerate works on several key areas, including:

• Installation of high-performance uPVC heritage-style sash windows
• Full repointing of the front elevation
• Complete refurbishment of the pupils’ toilet block
