Vanessa Bizzarri questions form and function. The creation process questions the form of materiality, while installing questions how it functions. Through her process-led practice, she combines organic-flowing and rigid materials, such as two-part polyurethane foam, metal chains and fabric. When two materials, such as fabric and expanding foam, are brought together, a conflict arises, as they are two different extremes. Fabric is controlled. Time and thought has to be given in order for it to be manipulated. Whereas expanding foam is in need of instantaneous decision making, due to its fast application time. This conflict is what has been materialised during her experimentation, while the drama created in the install, reflects this process. These create unfamiliar situations that prolong perception for the audience.

the use and physicality of printmaking. I have been positioning my work within a mode of mass production; becoming a product of a committed and set prolonged period of time, dedicated to the act of repetitive printing. The significance of the operative nature is held within the prints display: rolled up, laid out, installed and suspended; the printed work is treated as a set of objects that have further potential.
