You don't need to arrive at Frilu knowing exactly what you need.

Bring us your ideas, photos, Pinterest boards, the problem you're trying to solve. With our design expertise and specialist supplier connections we'll help you work out what will suit your space, from a paving colour to a complete outdoor scheme.

Great outdoor spaces start with a conversation.

Built strong. Built to last.

A lot of the most important work we do gets covered up and is never seen again.

This Core Datum edging is set securely in concrete with a full haunch, ready for the subbase and self binding gravel. Once finished, rollers and machinery will work right up against this edge, so it needs to be solid.

It’s a small detail, but this is where a well built garden starts.

At Frilu Design & Build, whether it’s paving, paths, walls, decking or a complete garden build, we put the same attention into what’s underneath as what you eventually see.

Build it properly. Build it once.

In the midst of all the work, projects don't look very glamorous. Mud, materials, half-finished details and a lot of work happening behind the scenes.

Then, almost suddenly, everything starts to come together. The finishes go in, the planting settles, the details connect, and the space begins to feel like the one we imagined on the design desk.

We’ve got several projects reaching that rather exciting stage at the moment. And while we can’t show you everything just yet, here are a few little peeks behind the scenes.

We can’t wait to show you the finished spaces.

We're expanding and looking for another good pair of hands to join our build team at Frilu. Someone with experience in hard landscaping, paving, groundwork, stonework or general construction.

We're much more interested in someone reliable who takes pride in their work.

Good varied projects across Cumbria, decent equipment, proper materials and a small team. Full-time permanent role, but we'd also speak to someone self-employed who wanted to try working with us first.

Or if you introduce us to someone we employ and they're still here after three months, we'll pay you £500.

We’ve been a little quiet lately… but for good reason. 👀

The team has been flat out bringing another bespoke garden to life, and we’re now into the final stages.

Here’s just a small glimpse of one of the details that will make this project stand out. We can’t wait to show you the finished transformation.

If you’re thinking about creating an outdoor space that’s designed around the way you live, now is a great time to start the conversation.

Come see the newest smart garden lighting, that landscapers can install themselves, and that really elevates a garden scheme, giving your clients the extra wow factor.

The learning never stops.

One thing we’ve always believed at Frilu is that there is always a better way.

Before using a new product or technique on a client’s project, we take the time to test it, understand it and refine the process. In this case, we’re trialling Elite EPO-Fusion mitre adhesive and colour pigments to achieve the cleanest possible mitred joints on porcelain paving.

Could we have gone straight onto site? Probably.

But that’s not how we work.

Our clients trust us to deliver the highest standard of craftsmanship, and that means practising, learning and continually improving behind the scenes—long before a product reaches one of our gardens.

It’s these small details that make the biggest difference to the finished result.
