Metro Rod Lincolnshire & Peterborough are looking for a **Trainee Drainage Engineer** to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to learn a skilled trade. **Previous drainage experience is not required**, as full training will be provided.

You'll work alongside experienced drainage engineers while learning how to investigate, clear, maintain and repair drainage systems across a variety of domestic and commercial sites.

# # # What You'll Learn

As your training progresses, you'll gain experience in:

* High-pressure water jetting and blockage clearance
* CCTV drainage surveys
* Drain cleaning and maintenance
* Using specialist drainage machinery and equipment
* Identifying drainage defects and faults
* Basic drainage repairs and remedial works
* Completing job reports and site documentation
* Working safely on domestic and commercial sites
* Providing a professional service to customers

# # # What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

* Reliable, punctual and willing to learn
* Comfortable with physical and outdoor work
* Happy working in all weather conditions
* Practical and able to use their initiative
* Confident dealing with customers
* Able to work effectively as part of a team
* Willing to undertake additional training and qualifications
* Flexible regarding working hours when required
* Comfortable working in an environment that can sometimes be dirty and physically demanding

A **full UK driving licence is essential**.

Salary will be **dependent on the successful applicant's age and previous experience** and will be discussed during the interview process.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Combi Tanker Driver to join our busy drainage team covering Peterborough, Lincoln, and surrounding areas.

✅ Full-time, permanent position
✅ Excellent rates of pay
✅ Overtime & on-call available
✅ Company vehicle & equipment provided

£2000 bonus on successful completion of probation period

The role will involve:
• Operating combination tanker units for drainage and waste operations
• High-pressure water jetting works
• Emptying interceptors, catch pits, gullies, and treatment systems
• Assisting with drainage investigations and emergency response works
• Working across commercial, industrial, and domestic sites

Requirements:
✔ HGV Class 2 licence (Class 1 advantageous)
✔ CPC & Digi Card
✔ Experience operating combi tankers or drainage equipment preferred
✔ Good attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
✔ Flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work

Drainage industry experience is preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
