Our contracts manager - Liam Kewell assisted Beard construction with their Open Doors Event helping some students from one of our sites at Gloucestershire College 👷🏻🔨 REPOST - The Cladding Zone was organised by Gary Pearce and delivered by Liam Kewell from Fifth Elevation who kindly made a huge effort to explain the complex and unique cladding system being installed on the new construction centre. Liam used a sample piece to show the students which was a great idea!

PORTSMOUTH INTERNATIONAL PORT.

The weather wasn’t great returning to take completion photos of Portsmouth International Port but that didn’t detract from the fact that she sure is a beauty! 🤩

Following our successful completion of the cruise berth extension in 2020 which enabled much larger cruise vessels to be accommodated, opening up more of the cruise market for the city, it makes the new passenger terminal extension, on what the port are now calling ‘T2’ , our second project for the port. 🚢

The extension featuring a two-storey steel-framed building and various sustainable elements, demonstrates a commitment to modern design and environmental responsibility.

The inclusion of a sky garden for passengers to enjoy views of the port, underfloor heating powered by seawater, energy generated by solar PV, a link forming a bridge between the original terminal building and the new extension, a dedicated check-in area, interior living walls, a baggage hall and exclusive cruise lounge contribute to both aesthetic appeal and eco-friendly features.

The new facility is cutting-edge in environmental development, complementing the original terminal building and the port’s net zero ambitions. The focus on carbon neutrality aligns with current trends in sustainable construction and showcases a forward-thinking approach.

External works were also completed, including surfacing for buses to service both terminals
