How does a wildflower meadow begin?
Is it through the seed drop of a bird or through the evacuation of a mammal/ human. Or you might feel its drifted in on the wind.
Perhaps humans force plants into holes alien to its natural environment?
Do you also believe that if a meadow has always had nettle & thistles and just purely waiting for the next tree to grow or the stomp of a yac to alter its path?
And why as humans do we fuss and classify a wild meadow purely for its beauty and not for its purpose.
Rewilding allows this and propagates natural flow of human & beast.
Anything else is agriculture, horticultural and science messing up the fusion of life on planet earth 🌏

When asked recently what my prefered style in gardening is, I was unable to give a definitive reply.
I suppose I cater for the needs of the client first and then add my own distinct style.
Plus providing something completely different for each garden that I create.
I find it so boring if I churn out the same plants all neatly lined up in there rows.
Like us, plants like to mingle and rub shoulders with each other.
Naturally there is always the odd falling out, we as the gardener act as the referee, and split them up when the bed gets too rowdy.

I'm loving the way our lettuces are turning into minature trees, with the beginning of seed head spires. Slightly bitter and probably beyond help.
We enjoy it all the same.
Natures way has beauty and charm.

I was recently asked to revamp a garden for a 50th birthday.

This modern agricultural style building and galvansed steel troughs were planted with tall verbenas, calamagrotis & echinacea's, and complimented with Nkuku pots filled with warm heleniums & stricking white agapanthus & annabels

Running a private estate comes with its compromises. But when you witness something truly beautiful whilst walking the borders that you have lovingly cared for and enhanced over many years, the awards out weigh the stress accumulated!!
